Voortman makes machines for Gulf States Saw & Machine Co. in order to meet our exact specifications. Voortman targets larger fabricators, while Gulf States Saw & Machine Co. targets smaller to medium-sized fabricators. Voortman has been designing machines for Gulf States Saw & Machine Co. since more than 10 years. Gulf States Saw & Machine Co. ranks as Voortman's largest customer in the world.

Voortman's beam coping machine has extended, rigid and durable torch tips which allow precise positioning within flanges. A closed loop system permits the torchhead to be released in the event of contact with an unexpected obstruction like slag.

This 5-axis CNC robotic cutting beam coper can cut beams, channels and angels on beams, channels or rectangular tubes. This machine can cut practically any shape that you can think of. It cuts to length, and it can even cope!

With the ABCM-1250 CNC beam cutting machine, achieve miter or straight cutting on a new level. In record time, place in-line with Voortman’s automatic sawing systems and separate beams.

These two features were created to improve the precision of cut, but they aren't found on every beam coping machine. Voortman has them included as standard.

Multiple axis positioning permits top and bottom flanges to be cut simultaneously. Flange beveling for weld prep is easily achieved with pivoting torches to the programmed miter position.

To move the steel through the Voortman's machine, the Voortman needs roller conveyors. Gulf States Saw & Machine Co. provides a customized modular system for the machine. The modular system, called the Ocean Eliminator, features in-feed or out-feed powered roller conveyors as well as powered lift/carry cross transfers.

Along with the basic unit that has some optional upgrade features, there is also the fully upgraded APC 1200. It has combination plasma and oxy-fuel cutting with both torches mounted on a pivoting head. They will flip one to the other interchangeably via computer control in a second without having to do anything manually. The machine is operated primarily with the Plasma to maximize efficiency. It is preprogrammed to automatically switch to the Oxy Fuel when the material thickness is beyond the cutting capacity of the Plasma. This upgraded unit comes standard with the laser probing for automatic height adjustment.

A 5-axis single torch CNC beam-coping machine is a machine that uses only one torch for all coping. One torch can be used to cope a beam. The torch will cut the web, then move on the flanges. It moves from one end of the web to the other in a sequential fashion. The 5-axis torch can move in an almost unlimited number of directions and places, making it possible for even the most difficult of jobs. The 5-axis torch allows for double miter/bevel cut on both flanges and web, something that multi-torch units are unable to do.

Voortman CNC Beam Coper's operation is simple. Most of our operators were floor layout men. You don't need any prior computer knowledge and are given full training at the time of installation.

The PCR42 robotic plasma cutter does beam coping and notches, holes, and weld preps. It also splits beams and scribes as well as marks on all four sides of H-beams channels angles, HSS, plates, and H-beams.

Voortman service technicians do not often have to be at your computer to fix any issues you may have. Voortman technicians will be able operate your control with an internet connection. Voortman equipment features a Powerful Windowsr-based Siemens control. It allows for this capability as well as superior diagnostics via Windowsr.

Frequently Asked Questions

When you are assembling a coping-saw, ensure that the teeth point towards the handle. The teeth will cut if you pull the saw rather than pushing it. This will improve accuracy and prevent your saw from breaking. It will also keep your wood from chipping.

To increase your beam's bending capability, you will need to increase the second moment (I) if your beam design is controlled by yielding in bend (not lateral-torsional or plate buckling). This is usually done by attaching additional plates to your beam, often onto the flanges.

H-Beams. H-beams are one of the strongest steel beams. It is composed of horizontal elements and the web by vertical beams. Popular in civil engineering and construction, the web and flanges create a cross section that is similar to the shape of the letter H.

A coping saw simply has a C-shaped steel frame that holds pivoting blade holders. These pin the blade's ends. The blade can be tightened by a few twists of its handle. This tensions the blade and allows it to make fast, precise cuts in almost any material.

There are many ways to think about coping strategies. The five most common types are problem-focused, emotion-focused, religious, social, and meaning-making.
