Issue 4

Aloha, and welcome to Issue #4 of HomeStation Magazine!

In this issue:

  • An interview with Joanna Dark (written by Aeternitas33)
  • Video games, and the girls who love them (written by Terra_Cide)
  • Attack of the weird messages (written by Stryctnin)
  • Community Corner (written by Cynella)
  • Trophies: the unquenchable work of play (written by Kozfear)
  • Home’s generation gap (written by LilBlueEyes)
  • The Ladies Fashion Runway (written by Keara22HI)
  • Echo Chronicles (written by SealWyf)
  • Virtual Love (written by CheekyGuy)
  • Innovations in personal estates (written by Dj_Tenchu)
  • A response to IGN (written by NorseGamer)

AND, what’s more, we’ve hidden a redemption code for a Sodium Blaster’s Paradise personal estate in the magazine! We’ve broken it up into three parts, and each one is concealed somewhere in this issue’s pages! Put them all together, in order, and redeem the code to win the space!

There’s also quite a “girl power” theme with this issue; over half the articles were written by women. A woman is on our cover. Our promotional video was shot by a woman. And, after being absent from the last two issues, fashion returns to HSM with a vengeance.

From all of us at HomeStation Magazine, thank you for enjoying this, our newest issue!

  2. Joanna Dark says:

    Norse,

I’m honored and flattered by the attention you have elected to give me in this issue. Oh my. 0_0 I am especially happy to see that the ladies from The Ladies Fashion Runway are getting a chance to shine – and women in general for that matter in this issue. Many of contributors work hard putting shoots together and sharing their fashion ideas. It does take time and effort to be a regular. The Fashionistas rock big time. I love them all! :)

Home is fun if you get involved and if you take the time to get to meet many of the wonderful people who spend time there. Home gets a bad rap at times because of those who elect to abuse the privilege. They aren’t what home is about.

Thank you so much for your kind words and thank you for the work and effort it takes for you and your staff to put a wonderful magazine together. I know I look forward personally to reading it on a regular basis.

Best of luck. Home needs a voice to talk about all that goes on there. You all do such a wonderful job.

And thank you again Aeternitas for being such a wonderful interviewer and I love your article. :)

    **hugs**

    Joanna

    • Nos says:

      Nice job, Joanna!
      *bows*
Had to skim through due to stoopid work tapping Nos on the shoulder, but will definitely give it a thorough read later.
      Prepare for impending comment.

  3. Burbie52 says:

Great articles as usual and great work by Mike and all others involved as well. Loved the format and I found the code too! But too late I guess as it isn’t valid anymore. Loved the article about you Joanna! Good to get to know you a bit better!

  4. Nos says:

Does Nos dare say that Echo Chronicles kicks butt?
    Kinda said it :P
From 2008 until this day, am still amazed by Homelings and all the Collective has to offer. Yes, we have gone through many changes. Yes, we have endured more than our fair share of “trying” times. Yes, the Collective has seen once glorious Homelings leave in the most colorful of ways. And no -- Homelings never falter. Our resolve and strength only grow with each trial. And glorious beings such as SealWyf continue to grace us with their… well… GLORY!
    Thank you, Seal :)

Should any readers care to discuss the articles in the current issue, please feel free to join us in the chat room!

  6. It’s too hard to read the articles in the Flash, PDF, PS3 versions of Issue 4.
If the article isn’t in the format I see on http://www.hsmagazine.net/ I’m not likely to read it.
I did read one article with a great deal of difficulty. Maybe it’s in part my eyesight.
While I enjoyed the article it wasn’t worth the wait but congratulations to Joanna Dark (there’s a bit of off the wall humor in my “worth the wait” comment ;)

Hi, could you share why you find it hard to read the articles in the magazine? We would be happy to try and make things easier, but we would have to understand what exactly the problem is.

      • The print is too small and I know I can enlarge the page but it’s still too small and not clear.

Also, the print is in italics or em and I believe it would be easier to read were it straight print like this and not like this —-> (assuming this works).

The page flipping is not something I like. I just read the articles on the main site http://www.hsmagazine.net/

I have a Mac Power PC not Intel and generally use Firefox.

Thanks for your reply. If you don’t have any other complaints then maybe it’s just me.

I do enjoy the articles on the main site that are listed in order.

        • Cubehouse says:

Not a massive fan of the page flipping myself, that’s why we make sure to offer the pdf file too, so people can download it and use whatever software they like to view it.
Usually when you zoom in the font should be very readable as it is a vector font rather than pixel based.
Majority of articles are available on the main website however :)
