Home private spaces have being evolving ever since we logged on to Playstation Home, some are just quiet retreats, (SummerHouse, Waterfall Terrace) some to explore and discover (Loco Roco Island) while others are for partying with friends (Santorini Yacht)
But these spaces would mean absolutely nothing were that they didnt have a mini game to entertain the guests. Fishing at the waterfall terrace gave you fantastic views as you were waiting to unlock the latest bait to catch much bigger fish but the interest level wanes and more so in that you can't Voicechat while playing.
I loved the Competitive nature of the WarHawk Game space, something akin to StarWars or the classic 'Beach Head' in aiming a crosshair at aircraft and blowing out of the sky.
But the Private game space that has addicted me since and has made me laugh the most was 'Village griefer' found in the Villans lair, for me the private space isn't much but I would get it just to play this game!
Just the sheer imagination behind that game, the idea that you could play God and destroy a small village using natural disasters and lasers and Dinosaurs, is just hilarious, and the player that can cause the most mayhem usually wins. Its a game mostly overlooked and should of won awards with its design.
The thing I have been disapointed in, was the pool game for our private space, I loved shooting pool in the bowling alley and I really wanted that for the home so I can practice with a friend. I was excited at first when Sony announced there would be pool tables for your Homespace and maybe i was misled but i bought it in believing that this was the pool table from the Bowling Alley, How wrong was i?
It took too long to pick up and play, you REALLY had to aim for the ball, and you couldnt voicechat while playing.
I was disapointed. It was like asking a friend if she wanted a quick game of Monopoly..
The London Pub space reminded me of Home and the darts game is classic, as it is easy to pick up and play and that's the keyword here 'Easy to pick up and play'
Playing at the bowling Alley was a pain. If you wanted to play with your friends, you would all wait at the same bowling aisle and if you were lucky to get a game, it would separate you from your group and spit you across the hall, same for the pool games, it was bad enough having to queue for it.
The RedBull race was fun to play, I love Flight simulators so that really appealed to me.
The XI thing was confusing. I guess some of you were pretty good at that huh? I couldnt get all the clues for that inbetween studying for my University classes.
I was intrigued by it, but I get easily fustrated by puzzles, so I had to leave that one alone
I like the Midway space with its myriad of Arcade games and Human cannonball. On the note of Arcade games, I really wanted those Atari games ( Pacman, Galaxian) to be playable for everybody.
And why couldnt they have THOSE games at the bowling alley, or something similar instead? I did like the Icebreaker game, but I would of picked a classic space invader game over that anyday!
At the moment we have new spaces propping up everywhere, some spaces promising that they will evolve, (Dragons Den space) but nothing ever came of that. Now this new Mansion, that provides you with a white tiger as security. (In SL we have tigers that boot unwanted intruders off your property and sometimes off an entire sim. Kinda funny to watch ) Gift machines are OK and nice to have.
But I want a game in my Private space that can involve everybody.. How about a game of Group Twister?
