I pick up my Dualshock, my Fingers search around it's sleek, smooth shape in my hand. It feels warm, sweaty, rubbery.
It sends vibrations which travels through my hands, arm and not long afterwards down toward my spine.
I stare at my TV screen with its vibrant colours, its sharpness as I take in the wonderment, the world in which I am transported to.
This feeling of emptiness in my real world is suddenly replaced with happiness at finding new friends and entering worlds of adventure and sheer imagination.
A world in which I can control with a touch of a button, my fingers dancing along the famous symbols of X, Circle, Square and triangle.
Four symbols any pre School child would know.
A feel of absolute power as I conquer ancient lands of Mystery and intrigue, of Dungeons and dragons.
Peering through the ironsights of a rifle, defending my chosen country, or planet.
Breathing in a sigh of relief as I find safe solitude from a creature stalking me in the shadows..
That feeling of knowing your about to score a touchdown, basket that 3 pointer, or score a goal from shooting a soccerball into the back of a net.
Then the lights of my DualShock bleep.. The display on my screen tells me the energy bar is empty and it is blinking.
I feel sad..
My DualShock is dying..
I have no control over my world..
I have to put the pad down but I can't. I don't want to.
Too late. The pads light's die out.
Lifeless..
Dead.
My heart sinks. The game is ended.
