In the Silicon Scrabble game two hints were posted on the adjacent page.

Hint #1: The Letter G loves to be second and close to numbers.

In the box there are two letter G’s in the code there are two numbers, 9 & 8
Therefore the letter G is placed in the second position in both columns that have numbers.

After solving this clue the code should read like this:
Q _ F _ - 9 G _ R - _ G _ 8

In the Matrix, weed out the obvious non codes, for example names of HSM team members.
Also look at the first letter or number in each part of the code. If you see a letter or number in the first position that repeats more then any other letter or number in that same row, one of those sequences of four characters is the correct one.
For example in row one of the code for the silicon lounge the letter J is the first character in four sequences of the matrix, there for the correct part of the code starts with the letter J.

After solving this clue your codes should look like this:

J _ _ _ - M _ _ _ - P _ _ _

G _ _ _ - 5 _ _ _ - E _ _ _

L _ _ _ - K _ _ _ - 6 _ _ _

In the Silicon Scrabble game two hints were posted on the adjacent page.

Hint #1: Spell Kate at the end.

This is a play on words and sounds, Kate in the code would be spelled K8 sound it out: ( k-ate)

After solving this clue the code should read like this:
Q _ F _ - 9 G _ R - _ G K 8

Just to give everyone the heads-up, trying to claim a code(whether it not be the actual code or the real codes once you find them) multiple times will eventually lock you out of claiming any sort of code, even if it indeed valid. This means you will not be able to claim any voucher codes, for PSN cards or for game DLC or Home items.

I've had a few friends of mine become locked out of being able to redeem anything, even after attempting to redeem a valid code. I had this happen to a few people I know and now it has happened to me. Just be wary trying to redeem these...

I'm not trying to start anything when suggesting this, but I recommend pulling this code redemption promo for now and find another way of distributing the codes before more people are locked out of the Redeem Codes feature and not able to claim anything even outside of this promotion. Pull this issue down temporarily, perhaps?

Chad, can you estimate how soon this "lock out" feature takes effect?

And just for the record, I think this is a very bad way of distributing codes. I only took a look at these puzzles a few hours ago, and based upon the limited information that was provided, it became immediately obvious to me that this essentially boiled down to a guessing game, which I did not want to participate in, because I knew that entering multiple codes within a short time frame would be sure to cause problems.

If puzzles are going to be used, then the completed puzzle should leave no ambiguity whatsoever about the correct code. There should not be any guessing element whatsoever.

I can't exactly estimate how long it took, but I had entered at least 20-30+ codes in about...half an hour? Maybe less. I was sitting there weeding out all possibilities, then I noticed the error message changed as I was inputting codes. It was then that I tested a different code that I had on hand. This one was valid, and yet it showed the error message again. At this point I knew I had locked myself out.

I like the idea of making us think a little for codes, the crossword did a good job, but the code matrix and scattered digits game, those were basically "guess the code", if I had known I could have locked myself out then I never would have went through with trying in the first place.

Thank you for your input, we are looking into new ways to distribute codes in the future that will give a fair and equal opportunity to all our readers. We did not anticipate the " lock out" we though the two games would give more people a opportunity to participate. We will discuss options to distribute the remaining codes and correct this problem very shortly.

Sorry for the inconvenience, please check back soon for an official announcement on when and how the codes will be made to the public.
