When I first arrived on Home I had this understanding that it was to be for a platform for gamers to interact, Shoot Pool or show off life sized trophies within the comfort of your well furnished Harbour Space.

It's been evolving alot since my first logging in in 2008.
I am a Secondlife user (Or 'Lifer') that is also a "Homeling" and its hard not to make any comparisions when i first log here.
One easy comparision is the Home users themselves, they are for the most part, casual gamers or hardcore that want to meet up or make arrangements for the next get together of RDR.

On Secondlife, the people there are very much 'Residents'.
Residents, as in some REALLY do live their lives there and have businesses and virtual families in which to take care of.

The other is media content. Secondlife has pretty much a 10 year headstart, so users have been streaming their media content ever since. Home is only just starting to and I like that it is in crisp HD content also. Yet there is very little user freedom to stream yur own content on Home, and why shouldnt you? Streaming media content in the privacy of yur private space is perfectly fine. I want to be able to plug my Ipod in and play what i like and host parties doing that, instead of placing my BT headset to the nearest PC speaker and getting feedback or worse still having to press my thumb onto the R2 button till it hurts.

I'll always have my comparisions to shopping on Home.
On Secondlife you can actually SEE the object you are buying in a store. This is important because you can have the ability to judge for yourself on how big it is, how much room space you could have for the object if it is furniture. Home doesnt have this, just a picture of the object and brief description which doesnt really tell you much. Also buying as a gift is very common on Secondlife, its usually as an option, So why can't Home give you that also? Sony are maybe on the right track with a gift machine but not really, I really would like to buy a friend something on Home, or maybe a lucky lady?

I do see more and more mature users wanting to connect on a perhaps intimate level, as far as i know of japan Home Offers users the ability to hold hands or dance, which is sweet. On Secondlife new animations are being made especially for couples in mind, to be able to walk together, cuddle on a couch or bed together (yes laying down, lol) And slow dance, of which there are many different types. There is the assumption that secondlife is a game, of which many users say it isn't, as for some users there are real feelings involved. And the same can somewhat be said of Home, although i dont think Sony quite see this yet. Red Light Center is another Virtual world that pretty much has it service toward virtual sex but the FAQ were always of having slow dances as Romance filled the air.

As it is user created, Secondlife has always had its strange fascination for sex. And there are adult areas people can use. The animations for lovemaking are getting better and sweeter all the time and pretty much 'Phasing Out' the 'Wham, Bam, Thank You ma'am' Of old. There is so far discussion of an Adult area for home users but i don't think this is the 'Adult' content Sony had in mind.
But I would like to at least have an opportunity to slow dance and have a cuddle in our virtual beds.
