Does anyone know of a person or persons who have hacked rewards from games in home such as Midway? If you have I would like to write an article about it and I am gathering info,if you have any "real" information, not speculation but hard evidence of this please add your comments here.

I hope you also post this in the HomeForum. It is such a disgusting thing to do. Fortunately, in this Forum we can name names and post pics of wrongdoers.

Just seeking clarification here,by hacking do you also include game-sharing or do you mean ppl that have actually hacked.I view game-sharing as something slightly different than hacking myself so was just wondering if game-sharing is excluded from the info. you are seeking?

Also I'm unclear exactly what the standard of proof would be.Anyone that knows a hacker but has no concrete proof might have a hard time proving anything which would then look like speculation even if the charge is true.I guess what I'm asking is this, how much proof is needed to move a charge from speculating to proven?

I should probably explain why i ask these questions before I'm accused myself for even asking these things. In my time on Home I've ran into probably a hundred ppl claiming to be a hacker and in every case I've encountered the case turns out to be game-sharing or an out-right fabrication on the hacking claimant's part.So if your looking for concrete proof of hacking these things should be kept in mind.Pics of messages that show detailed hacking knowledge or an out-right confession might be the only ways to prove this but i would like to hear from an expert on the topic if possible, protecting ourselves from hackers is something everyone should be concerned with but game-sharing,i believe and I may be wrong in this, only hurts Sony and developers by cheating them out of cash.Which in the long view could be construed to cause us all harm but it's indirect and mostly thought of as unharmful to the user on the streets in Home.As a matter of fact it's not uncommon to see ppl in CP asking total strangers to gameshare while no self-respecting hacker would advertise their crime in such a way,so I've been told by reliable sources.

Hacking has been part of PlayStation Home for such a long time. Sony does try to make it harder but it's still happening. I know a lot of the free items are often obtained by using special servers set up by hacker groups which require the user to manually change their DSN numbers on the network prior to logging into home.

With special DSN assignments users can then visit places like the Mall and see special content under a special tab or visit places like E3 (this was the case last year) and view a trailer to obtain lots of free item rewards without having to earn them.

The Final Fantasy costumes and the Uncharted Apartment are another example of a hack where these items were obtained early by having special web addresses directly to the content in the PlayStation store. It appears that a lot of inventory is put into the store prior to linking it to the store fronts in Home. With the appropriate address that content could be purchased early.

I'm not sure how much of this can still be done because Sony does try it's best to deter this type of behavior but people are resourceful and still manage to find work arounds.

This happens in all regions of PlayStation Home to my knowledge.

The hacking I am speaking of has more to do with the rewards system in Home. I was recently talking to a club that told me in no uncertain terms that they know of people who have hacked the purple midway or gold midway jackets rather than earn them, this is what I am talking about.I hope that clarifies this for you. I don't know what kind of evidence could even be found in this situation, this is why I am asking for suggestions and ideas before I jump into this article, it might have to be done from a speculative viewpoint such as "Cheaters in Home, Do They Exist or Not?" kind of thing. Then give evidence in a broad sense rather than a specific one. Your thoughts?

I would suspect that most of the people who have reward items from midway got them though DSN hacks and not cheating in the game itself. I'm certainly no expert. Be interesting to see what you find out.

The only way to get items like Midway jackets that I've ever heard of (besides legitimately) was using that "hacking" software from some French website. When I looked into that stuff a year ago or so they basically said they could get any Home item for you, hence the WKC outfits you sometimes see. Almost invariably they're hacked.

I put quotations around hacked earlier since it takes no computer skill on these people parts, they just download software.

Also, I'll never forget the first time I was hanging around Midway after getting the gold jacket. Some guy comes up and asks if I hacked it. I said no! He said prove it, get on Ball Squeezer and play. So I did. Apparently I passed Mr. Midway-lover himself, Raybladex's Midway test. Some games you can just tell whether a person has any skill at it or not, that would be one. The hackers just can't do it well.

It was interesting first meeting that's for sure, Ray's a nice guy, but probably got sick of the hackers walking around in those Midway jackets and needed a way to find out the truth.

I think you're gonna have hard time getting help. There may be people who know people who clearly are hacking all varieties of items, including paid items, but I doubt they'll want to mention names at risk of upsetting those individuals. Good luck, it would be interesting to know more.

Yes that clarifies things i think, your looking for DSN hackers that have obtained midway items without really earning them. The suggestion about having some1 play the midway games to prove authenticity is only a partial answer. If a midway champ couldn't even come close to repeating their feats there would still be the possibility that they had a real life friend do the work without the aid of the hacking. This is kinda why i wanted to hear an expert on this,to see if there wasn't a way to be able to trace a users DSN activities, that would be 1 sure way to know, any ideas Cubehouse?I believe having a friend do the work would still be cheating but it's not what your looking for here.I also feel this article will be hard to accomplish as many who might know about this have probably benefitted from it also we all just witnessed what hackers can do and the fear factor might be high among potential informants.Having said that i too would like to see this written,it might not be easy but nothing great ever is.
