Kat, I have talked with people who have received an email when they have been suspended. My feeling is that a lot of people create more than one ID which have to have different email addresses and therefore use bogus email addresses.

I received an e-mail when I got my only warning ever, for saying someone's user name that idk was a violation of the TOS ironically the user name that violated the TOS was allowed to continue using it though, but have friends that received no e-mails at all when banned. It seems like it's something Sony does occasionally but not in every case. The point about the bogus e-mails might account for some incidents but wasn't a factor in the case of my friend.

If we could score an appearace with a mod as well, I think between the three of us we could think of all the questions needed to be able to give people a much better idea of how the banning process works.

Orion, sorry, I really should've worded my post better. I'm not trying to imply that you won't ever recieve an email, but you're just as likely to not recieve one.

Yes, the bogus email addy would prevent any sort of notice, but they aren't under any sort of obligation to inform you of anything. It seems to be up to whoever has the final say in issuing the ban whether to send an email or not.

Wow! that is a brilliant idea! Easiest way to get the attention of a Mod, I suspect, is to put that phrase on the Home Forum: Mod Needed For Ban Interview for HSM Article. But better run it past Terra and Norse first.

If we could get a Mod to interview, I already have some questions lined up. I have been thinking about/researching this issue for some time.

I really recommend posting the request in the Home Forum. All those Mods read that thing with a magnifying glass. I think it would be your best chance at getting their attention.

This is a subject that urgently needs to be examined.

Well I'd love to post that on the Home forums or indeed anything else but since the outage I've been unable to access my account through the Forum.I can change my password with ease yet it never works,I've pretty much given up on it.The last time I tried to reach someone on the 1-800 # I got a recording that just looped me back in a circle. As for questioning the Mods, well I'm sure we could think up some pretty good questions but honestly I'd be very surprised, and pleasantly so,if a Mod agreed.I'm not too sure how much Sony would be willing to let become public knowledge but am certainly looking forward to that answer.I feel the more knowledge we have the better we can self-police ourselves and do our part to keep the Mods from becoming over-burdened.I'll start thinking of questions to add to the 1's I've had for a long time now, just in case.

I have actually messaged a MOD on home..when he took me aside I took down his name..The next day I messaged him
and he responded. I would assume they are not allowed to discuss protocol, and since they use other people to find the offenders, maybe contacting the managers of home directly for such an interview..I don't know, just thinking aloud is all

Thanks for the replies. I do not consider myself an exemplary member of Home by any stretch of the imagination and have been up to "no good" on that particular account. The only two things I could possibly have done is copied a particular id and maybe said someones name out in Cp. I am a non-resident of N.A and am not particularly concerned about the account other than kowing the reasons why, and if this unamed person actually did have the clout to have me banned. The other person seemed to know exactly whaen my account was banned and gave me a name of the person who he said had the "friends " to do it.
Anyway as I said thanks for the response.
