The Giftinator That Keeps on Giving

You know, I have one simple request.

Remember the days when we only had one option which granted the PlayStation Home community the ability to send our friends — or random strangers — a virtual commodity that we thought they simply needed to own?

I’m not saying that was a bad thing, because back when that feature was first introduced into Home, it was about a week after mankind had discovered fire. So things were a bit primitive. But today, thankfully, we have a variety of options that let us not only send gifts to other people, but we — finally — have the ability to gift ourselves instead of having to create an alternate account to get the real neat stuff. Because, seriously, that whole “Bro, do you even gift?” issue has gotten bloody old.

For all the talk of Home’s good ol’ days, some things really are better today.

A recent announcement from Hellfire Games caught my eye. They were informing the community that their proprietary gift machine — the Giftinator 9000 — was prepped for a massive content update. They actually teased us about the update a few days earlier on Twitter, and thus began the inevitable gossip and speculation of what might be included. Are there new hair colors and styles for the guys and gals? Can we get different paint schemes for our ships? People were curious if any of the suggestions they gave input to would be developed and make it past GFPQA.

Turns out, a lot of really good stuff is coming. My personal reaction upon seeing the list? I am gonna go broke.

Hellfire Games is unleashing a tidal wave of goodies that we can bathe ourselves and others with. The Giftinator 9000 is about to burst at its seams. Hellfire is going to have three huge content releases this month, and the first one starts this Wednesday. The list of all the items this week coming out can be found exclusively here on HSM below:

  • Merchandising.

    Merchandising.

Partner Packs: Massage -This might be the new question that will be repeated the most in Home: “Can I massage your feet or back?”

  • Dance-o-Tron Studio - About time, frankly.
  • Novus Prime Ship LMOs - These are just too cool.
  • Crimson & Golden Rocket LMOs -This is really, really cool.
  • Weather-Tron 5000: Rain & Snow - The one thing we need more of in Home: rainy days and snowball fights. Well, okay, that’s two things.
  • Nebulon SpeedWings series
  • Golden Runic Obsidian Bladewalker - This has the potential to becoming the newest member of S.H.I.E.L.D.
  • Obsidian Ice Knight SpeedWings
  • Chrome Phantom Mech Suit - This is worthy of defending you from pretty much anything it looks like.
  • Animated Nebulon Bikinis - Eyebrow arch.
  • 4 new IdolStyles (Male & Female)- I do like these.
  • Wedding Rings and Dazzling Diamond Engagement Ring
  • Animated & Monochrome Leggings - Definitely a winner.
  • Animated Nebulon Earrings
  • Wooden & Black Ear Gauges - I have never seen these before in Home and I can see them selling very quickly.
  • Flaming Fists – Bruce Lee would be proud.
  • Summer Sandals - Great for a day of walking the sands of Home
  • Dance-o-Tron 5000 (Personal Space Version) - Good.
  • New Gift Wrap rewards at levels 12 and 14- Receiving a reward for gifting is brilliant.
  • Giftinator Crown & Tiara at level 13
  • Karma Power Auras at level 15
…And that’s just this week.

Hellfire Games has added two new categories to the Giftinator 9000: female and male jewelry. In addition, they’ve also added new content to almost every frickin’ category they have. And, to top it off, it looks like the speed of the Giftinator itself has been increased..

Hellfire’s Ben Lewis characterized the largest content release ever on PlayStation Home thus: “From new two-player animations and innovative portables like the Weather-Tron 5000, to new fan-requested items like the Novus Prime Ship LMOs and male IdolStyles, there’s something for everybody at the Giftinator 9000 this week — and beyond.”

We strongly encourage following Hellfire’s social media channels for the latest updates. Get ready to go broke on Hellfire content this week. And the next. And, uh, the one after that, too. Oy.
