My Time With the Chic Bag

by Jin Lovelace, HSM team writer & filmmaker

Anyone can tell you that I hate walking around with an empty hand.

Almost all of my outfits have to at least have something, whether it’s a clutch bag, a cane, or some form of a purse. I feel as though whatever outfit I construct is incomplete if I’m not holding onto a fashionable object.

Call it an addiction, but I can’t help it.

The introduction of Handbags by Drey was something I couldn’t wait for in Home. Some offerings were, to say the least, simplistic in nature and taste, but it fit every outfit I’ve concocted. Almost every apparel designed: a handbag complemented the style.

Handbags. Clutchbags. Saddlebags. Purses. Manbags. Totebags. Fannypacks. Seriously, I’m swimming in the sea of craziness here whenever I look into my saved outfits in my wardrobe and pull out a style that’s complete with one.

Now nDreams, the company that revolutionized LMOs on Home, had to take it one step further and create a Chic Bag featuring an alluring animation that ruined my handbag collection. Like, completely demolished and tarnished every single parcel for me to never ever wear — all thanks to this Chic Bag.

With Ms. Carie, sporting the Chic bag and an outfit from the “Halter Expressions” catalog.

First off: I’m in a mixed state of mind when it comes to the fashion walk animations on Home. Some are too stiff, if not too flamboyant. The Chic Bag, while only available in one color (black), has turned some heads and commanded a lot of attention. The walking animation has only one speed, which is perfect for your runway fashion shoots when coupled with an outfit that suits the style of the bag. When in idle stance, the animated poses it purveys are equally charming and sexy, whether it’s your male or female avatar that’s sporting the bag.

Although there’s only one color available for the purse, there are two options to choose from: a regular fashionable bag and one with a cute puppy stuffed inside the bag with its head peeking out. The latter option features a slightly modified animated variation where you’re petting the tiny critter and attending to the little thing as you walk. Some like the puppy because, well, it’s cute. I prefer the one without the puppy for normal accessorizing.

PlayStation(R)Home Picture 06-09-2014 19-43-32For the bag itself, black surprisingly works well with nearly every style I’ve created. An example of this is my recent “Halter Expressions” catalog, which exploited all of the Foal Prints & Patterns Tube Tops to construct fashionable designs. Very accessible to almost any look you can imagine, though I wouldn’t go too overboard with many of the dresses, as such styles just wouldn’t call for the bag.

Observer Screenshot 9_57 AM 7_18_2014Which brings me to my gripe here: I wish there were more color options. Would love to have this bag in optional colors such as red, pink, and white. And while I’m infatuated with the walking and idle animations, a variation without the bag would be great as well, minus the hand on the hip tossing that I see from the recent Boutique Apartment Sexy Walk offering. I don’t mind the sexiness every now and then, but subtlety goes a very long way with me. This, I hope, they can create and release soon.

But is this Chic Bag worth it?

Well, from my experience, I haven’t taken this Chic Bag off since it released. The sexiness it emits, along with the bit of flair it adds to my outfits, just really brings everything — from style to just idle animations — to life.TT Catalog_ Material World 2-3 Aside from the attention that I would receive from the spectators and the curious lot that would come to inspect me, I’ve introduced this bag to a new friend of mine, and it made her feel sensational.

And it’s the little touches like this that make nDreams and their products so special. Their LMOs breathe life and personality into your avatar, especially for those that “get” Home. Something like this just can’t be reproduced.

Overall, I highly recommend this offering from the developer. It has so much sass that one can’t overlook and more. Check it out.
