The Ten Cutest Things in Home

by Kassadee Marie, HSM team writer

In Home, you can see almost everything that’s in the real world — and a lot that isn’t there, too. There are people (avatars), animals, public locations, actions from yawning to dancing, various scenic views, games to play, and stores to shop in. And there are personal estates, furniture, ornaments, and clothing — in almost every style, it seems. Some things are serious, some are funny, some are fantasy, some look real, and some are just plain cute.

Here are my ideas for what’s the “cutest of the cute” in Home.

Public Space: Spunland by madmunki. Not only is this space cute and rather wild, it’s a lot of fun to play the games here. It may take awhile to get the hang of it, but as you watch the activities cycle and what the other people around you do, you’ll learn the best points-earning strategies. (Here’s one hint: be sure to leave the game and equip a speed locomotion to catch those rabbits!) Also, be sure to visit the store while your there because you can try out various items that can’t be tried out but only viewed, in the regular store.

Personal Estate: LocoIsland by Sony – $6.99. If you have never visited this personal space you are missing out on a treat. For owners, this island progresses by giving the MuiMui king pickories that you can “earn” here or on the MuiMui ship. While the view is lovely but fairly standard, the island itself is adorable. There’s a two-story treehouse with a slide, a club space where you can listen to a jukebox after you earn it, games to play, and other treats to be earned. But the really, really cute part is when you gather the yellow LocoRocos together and they sing to you. This is a sight and sound that shouldn’t be missed.

Furniture: Sweet Treats Furniture Set by Sony – $4.99. What could be cuter than furniture made to look like desserts? You can enjoy all seven delicious items if you purchase the full pack, including a candy picture frame, a chocolate donut chair, an adorable cupcake table, a giant three-scoop ice cream cone ornament, a peppermint lamp, a luscious cake couch, and a pink cotton candy rug. They all look so good, you’ll want to eat them. Yum!

Outfit: Cute Sweet Loli Set by Granzella – $2.49.  This girl’s outfit is just precious, isn’t it? I found it irresistible. Not only is it adorable in pink, you can go a little “Goth” in the navy blue version. Either set comes with two dresses and two pairs of shoes (for the with- or without- stockings look), an adorable pigtails hairdo, and a large bow for the top of your head.

Fairytale Ms Muffet Value PackCostume: Ms. Muffet or Mr. Muffet by Lockwood – $1.99 for him/$2.99 for her. The styles of these costumes are adorable and the colors of both (blue and pink for her and blue and beige for him) are sweet. I love his little hat and the spider on her spoon, especially!  And having a Mr. Muffet is one of the most captivating ideas ever. You’ll find these fun items under the “Fairytales” tab in the Lockwood store.

Companion: Rex or Plates dinosaurs by Codeglue – $2.99. These eight companions are the cutest on Home and they are offered in two types with four colors (blue, pink, orange and yellow) each. There are a lot of endearing companions on Home; some are even season, holiday, or occasion-specific. While these items aren’t as popular as they used to be, it can still be fun to pull one out of your storage and watch its antics while you talk with friends, or faithfully follow you wherever you go.

Dance: The Chicken Dance by Atom Republic – $3.99 for the Comedy Pack.  This dance is only offered in packs called the Comedy Moves or the Comedy Bundle with other dances and moves. While it’s a simple dance, it’s also very cute and very funny to watch. Try this dance out with various costumes and it can be even cuter and more engaging. A line of people doing this dance in costumes would be hysterically funny.

Other Locomotion: Soaring Heart Bicycle by Granzella – Reward. If you haven’t seen this item, which is rather rare, the name rather says it all. It’s a red heart-shaped bicycle with white wings that soars along as you ride it, while pink and white hearts float after you. So much cuteness packed into one item! And it was a reward that didn’t cost all that much time or money to earn.

SlapHappy

Game: Slap Happy by Codename Games – $2.49. If you missed this game while it was in Central Plaza you might want to consider picking it up and finding a group to play with some evening. It’s not only cute and funny, it’s a game of strategy as compelling as poker can be. Knowing or learning about your opponents and using this knowledge is half the fun. (Be sure to set it up so you see the piano fall on someone at least once.) By the way, you’ll also receive a phonograph ornament for your personal spaces that plays music.

Musical Item: Ballerina Music Box by Sony – $1.99. The third-party developers have made a lot of enchanting musical items, but nothing beats this Sony original item for cuteness, in my opinion. It’s a shame it still takes up 22 furniture slots because it would be perfect in a feminine bedroom, especially one decorated for a little girl.

Of course, all of these are just my opinions. You probably have a mental list of the items that you think are cutest too that may agree or disagree with mine. “Cute” may not even be something you’re interested in, guys. But keep in mind, the girls of Home may be very interested. Hmmmm, now what’s cute in the gift machines?

Home is endlessly entertaining to this California girl. Kassadee has been in Home for about four years, and loves almost everything about it (with a few notable exceptions). She spends way too much money there, and perhaps too much time... Someday she will travel the world and write about the people she meets and the places she sees.

Correction: Codeglue’s “Rex” series is $2.99, but their “Plates” series is only $2.49.
