“Slowly” (The Dressing Room)
by Jin Lovelace, HSM team writer & filmmaker
This video hopefully highlights what I believe is the very best of KOVOK.
The past few months have seen this developer make enormous strides. They came into the Home scene with well-designed fashion items and a few furniture commodities that are simply a cut above.
As much as I strive to cover every fashion release in Home, it can be a bit arduous to catch up on literally everything. And that’s a shame, because oftentimes it’s the smaller developers — who most need to establish brand awareness in the marketplace — that run the risk of being overlooked in lieu of the big names. The reality is this, though: Home’s marketplace isn’t as frenetic as it was in years past, and there are possibly some opportunities left.
KOVOK is stepping into that calculated risk. And good on them — they’re some of the most gracious Home developers I’ve ever conversed with.
I’ve developed a bit of a fondness for KOVOK commodities. The Raven Culture line features some of the better-designed Gothic apparel in Home that aren’t over the top or too cliche. Accessible, comprehensive, and versatile: all that you would expect from your favorite fashion goods in Home.
What came to mind with this next video project: it was long overdue for Twilight Touch to feature their ensembles. And, further, they are promoting their first personal estate, the Dressing Room, they’ve created, which you can obtain for free by logging onto Facebook and clicking “like” on KOVOK’s Page (which you can do right here) and follow the prompts for your free code.
If you’re wondering if a free personal estate is worth it, take a look at this video. In my view it’s risky to spend so much money developing a quality estate which is given away for free — it’s a great audience-building move, but at the cost of zero realized revenue — but KOVOK likely has a larger plan at work, and is willing to spend money to get there.
Also, for those of you who haven’t yet picked up any KOVOK clothing, we hope the fashions from the developer showcased in part of this video help expose these designs to you.
Finally, I included the music piece “Slowly” by Joystick, because I think it sums up my feelings towards this developer: slow to start, perhaps, but the pace was absolutely worth it.
