VEEMEE: Printing Away

by Susan, HSM team writer

I’m starting to become overwhelmed by the sheer volume of content available to the PlayStation Home consumer — but in a good way.

Be careful what you ask for, because it seems that VEEMEE is showing us that they are indeed listening to you and flooding the community with so much stuff that I’ve actually caught myself saying I have too much – yet I still manage to continue to dump items in my virtual shopping basket on a weekly basis.

Aloha; my name is Susan, and I’m Home shopping addict.

I’ve heard countless remarks on how we need more clothes for women in Home. Well, VEEMEE’s 3D Printer will allow you to shut up for a while and “print” out the newest available additions from the machine. Having a 3D Printer in Home is a fantastic twist on Lockwood’s Gift Machine. I have two, myself — Red and Gold — and they both need a break from the printing process. But not today. The tokens that you use to purchase the items are very inexpensive, and the prices range from 100 tokens for $1.49 to 5000 for $42.99 — and they do indeed go a long way.

A good example of that is what was added to the printer a few days ago.

100 tokens gets you or a friend an entire outfit-almost.

If you’re into sequins, then their military-styled jacket is full of them, and so is the skirt that comes with it. Leggings and bracelets round out the bundle in two different color options, and all just for 100 tokens. A  Bling Fedora that comes in three different colors will add that head-turning sparkle you were looking for to complete your look. New leggings in two different styles — star pattern and candy corn — are only 100 tokens each.

The most interesting bit of printer action recently, though, is an animal avatar LMO called Tanuki. A native to Japan, and more commonly called a raccoon dog, it has been reported to be jolly yet mischievous, somewhat gullible, absent minded and a master at disguise and shapeshifting. Interesting choice for an LMO; and we can be one or gift it to our friends for 250 tokens.

As another week gets underway, so does VEEMEE’s continued series-Half Price/ Hot Deals. As you know, each week they slash the prices on selected items by fifty percent or more. Sure, the items have been on the shelves for a while, but so what? They are still mint in box, being virtual and all. If the price was holding you back before, then now is a great chance grab up these items.

Whoever said that bigger is better has never owned one of the Mini-Moto motor bikes. At $1.49 each you can select from an assortment of colors and styles, from quad bikes, dirt racing bikes and GT-styled motorcycles. Purchase the bundle for $4.99 and get two road bikes as a bonus. That’s eight total. I can’t think of a much better reason to do a wheelie on Home than these amazing prices.

Three planes for under the price of a salad at their diner-sold.

Maybe ground travel isn’t for you? The skies are what beckon? Feel the need to pretend you’re Captain Oveur? You’re in luck this week, as VEEMEE has slashed the price of their Mini Plane-Jumbo Airliner to $1.49.  Four turbofans propel you at a speed that equals the motorcycles. You would think the jet would go faster than the motorcycle, but this is Home we’re talking about, after all.

If the responsibility of piloting a passenger jet isn’t for you, then maybe the single seated, supercharged Lanner engine of the V62 Classic Fighter might be more your style. Join up with aviators in this agile fighter as they patrol the area above PlayStation Home. Purchase the bundle VEEMEE put together for $2.73 (odd price) and they throw in the Vintage Fighter – a triple winged aircraft reminiscent of the days of when Snoopy and Woodstock would battle it out high in the sky’s above his doghouse.
