Hairstyles — by VEEMEE?

by Jin Lovelace, HSM team writer & filmmaker

We’ve established that VEEMEE is one of the most powerful fashion houses in Home, with brands such as Billabong, Wrangler, and Element under their belt. With their ventures into creating original collections (Strut and the popular urban-themed Street Style), it was logical to wonder when the developer would create some proprietary hairstyles.

You saw a bit of this with the Valentine’s Rose Crownits tiara variant, and Billabong’s Mahalo Rainbow Trucker Cap offering (both in Charcoal and Pink colors), with a natural emo-style short hairdo — which, oftentimes when worn, I receive a “That’s a cute hat” comment rather than the most common “I hate hats in Home” sentiment. So it was only a matter of time, in my view, until VEEMEE really let loose with hairstyles.

When you think hairstyles in Home, the top-of-mind answer is almost always Lockwood — and with good reason, given their overall dominance of that market sector. That said, VEEMEE has been on quite a tear in Home recently, and it’s always a pleasant surprise to be reminded just how good their stuff is.

Their latest, the Split Ends line (a name which, while I appreciate the irony, might be worth revisiting), is certainly pleasant to behold. Available in three styles (Ponytail, Pigtails, and the familiar Side Fringe) and in highlights (teal, blonde, red and blue), I genuinely hope VEEMEE continues to expand into this arena. You can look forward to this impressive line making its preview debut on Wednesday in x7, and its general release on April 30th.
