A Bunny For Your Thoughts

Easter tells us that life is to be interpreted not simply in terms of things but in terms of ideals.

In a couple of weeks, another religious holiday — Easter — will be celebrated around the real world as well as in the virtual world of PlayStation Home, and a leading content provider for Home is making sure the community is prepared for this event. This week, in both regions, one of the most populated public spaces in Home — Acorn Park — is getting its seasonal/holiday makeover again with an invasion of the bunny rabbits. And there is one big golden rabbit we have to go and talk to whilst at the park.
Wasn’t there an old sci-fi movie of sorts that had an invasion of rabbits?
Where there was the large pot of gold in the park for St Patrick’s Day, now sits a large adorable bunny rabbit so cute I want to own one in Home. Just not that large. Orange/yellowish colored “peeps” have replaced the previously themed pedal boats, and VEEMEE have added a new RC Bunny car to their lineup of the fun things to do there. The train has totally been remodeled to resemble a bullet train with the theme of Easter throughout the space.
Virtual parks do have some advantages. The grass is always mowed, the hedges are always trimmed and the dog park remains smelling free of any odor that visiting pets — and perhaps their owners — left behind. And now bunny rabbits.
VEEMEE continues the tongue-in-cheek humor of the holiday by giving us the ability to push and roll around on a selection of large multi-colored eggs, with the hope that we find a frying pan big enough to accommodate it. Turn yourself into one of the new rabbit avatars and you can start hopping down the bunny trail. You can buy them individually or in bundles of various options. Bunny suits for your avatar and bunny themed artwork for your skateboard are just a few more of the goodies that they have available for you. SCEE and Club X7 in the SCEA region will see a release of these items this week, and a general release to the SCEA region the following week on the 16th of April — just in time for Easter.
Going into their ninth week of the putting together a selection half-price hot deals for the community, VEEMEE decided that it was time to take gaming back to old-school-arcade cabinet style. Savage Cosmos, Elecktrokid and Superhero Madhouse will now be available at fifty-percent off, and is a must-have for your upcoming Easter BBQ. Stay happy this season with the Smiley Face for your head, or get what I got — the Smiley Yellow Suit. For those lovers of creature comforts, there are a couple of bundles of Dragon and Tiger heads and tails you can grab at half-off.
How fast things change, eh? Not too long ago, it seemed the only thing VEEMEE was in the news for was No Man’s Land. Now they’re the toast of the town with Acorn Meadows Park, which is about as thematically different as it gets. In the battle for earning the social Home user’s dollar (or Euro), VEEMEE has certainly leapt to the front of the pack.
