VEEMEE’s Latest Content

by Jin Lovelace, HSM team writer & filmmaker

It wasn’t all that long ago that the deluge of locomotion items began. Indeed, following Home’s less than stellar attempt at becoming a full-blown gaming platform, it could be argued that locomotions were truly the cash crop that largely propelled development and reinvestment in the platform. It got to the point where you couldn’t turn to your left without basking around Home with a locomotion activated, from Angel Wings to Unicycles. It’s a diverse market now, where everyone can do just about anything desired, from skateboarding by Element to creating your own Dance Dance Revolution steps with the help of nDreams’ dance packs.

But now the latest trend is transforming into creatures. Including arachnids. And with every fiber of my being, I just shuddered when typing that, due to my arachnophobia. But it’s an interesting trend, and VEEMEE’s got some new commodities for it.

The latest — the Mini Stunt Show Vehicles — brings back the days where monster truck shows were all the rave and the highlight of your childhoods.

And seeing as how Home is laced with users that prefer riding on animals and creatures, it is indeed the next logical step to transform into their beloved critters. Think Turbo Teen without the cheese. With the Mythical Creature avatars, you can choose from three new beasts of lore with the Celestial Guardian, the menacing Minotaur, or the sinister Cyclops. Each can be purchased separately or in a value bundle.

Lastly, we all have thoughts of having some sort of “evil shadow” emerging to fulfill our pernicious thoughts and bidding (ah, if only Home had inter-avatar collision detection!). Or, moreso, to envy Bayonetta’s ability to summon shadowy creatures with the use of her hair by command.

While I don’t think we’ll be seeing something like that anytime soon — or don’t wish to favor the thoughts of having my socialite hairstyle morph into some fiery phoenix — at least you can safely undergo a metamorphosis of becoming an Evil Shadow figure. With five unique figures to choose from, you can take the form of a Shadow Man, Shadow Woman, Shadow Eagle, or Shadow Dragon.  Personally, out of them all, the Shadow Woman and Dragon would be my top choices, but that’s just me fulfilling some Bayonetta fantasy.

All three will be available on the February 5th x7 preview update for SCEA Home and as a general release for SCEE Home.
