nDreams’ Stately Home/Gothic Home

by Susan, HSM team writer

It’s tangible, it’s solid, it’s beautiful. It’s artistic, from my standpoint, and I just love real estate. -Donald Trump

We have had different types of mansions in PlayStation Home for a while now. For me, I saw that most popular was the one from Sony which had different floors to the manor and several sections of the estate you could purchase separately and reward your friends with gifts while they were there. Owning the different sections also allowed you access into some of PlayStation Home’s exclusive areas.

This isn’t one of those.

The new personal space being released from nDreams this week is a something different — and I like what they did. They designed a humongous house. This place would rival some of the regal estates you would find anywhere in England, Scotland or even in a few parts of America. This place comes with not only manicured topiary, a well-kept flower garden and a water fountain, but you can change the look of the place with a click of a button.

Well, sorta.

nDreams created this place with two looks: the Stately Home and the Stately Gothic Home, in estate and clubhouse variations.

Choose which one or mix and match.

To top that, each place comes with its own distinctive style of furniture. There are five pieces available for you to design the perfect estate: sofa, clock, chair, vase and a sideboard. Mix and match them to come up with the perfect combination that works for you. Another neat thing they incorporated is if you own the Masquerade Ball-Gothic ballroom ($4.99), on both floors of this place you will find a door that will take you directly there. I don’t know how you arrive at the estate, as there is no driveway or walkway; perhaps by boat. Doesn’t matter, though. The fountains out in the water were a nice touch, too.

Can you tell I like this place?

They did all right by me in the detail department. The marble they used makes a person feel like they finally arrived in the world of the über wealthy. The fabric feels like it was imported from somewhere I never heard of. The paintings on the wall look like they came from an art gallery. The ceiling could be painted copper tiles. When it is in the Gothic version, the place is transformed into something even more magnificent, with more fabric draped from the ceiling.

The estate can be purchased as one big bundle, which gives you both versions as well as a personal space and a clubhouse, all for $13.99 — while each space separately will run you $6.99.

Feeling like you need a bigger place for all your worldly Home possessions, or looking for that perfect place to hold your next Goth Party? I suggest you try out nDreams’ new space for size — because when it comes to estates, size does sometimes matter.

  • The detail is immaculate and amazing.
  • I would buy this if I could afford it in the real world.
  • It comes in two versions-Regular and Gothic.
  • It is bundled up as a one package if you prefer.
  • Can be bought as a clubhouse or personal space.
  • No opening doors.
  • No rewards to gift to your friends.
  • Limited wall space for your own artwork.
  • Not really a house as it is only 1 room.
  • Limited furniture options.

I think The Complex 2 is still nDream’s strongest personal space available. I haven’t gone to this place yet but from the video vignette, it looks pretty good.

The price is also very attractive for a large abode.

The detail looks nice but how many versions of the one-roomed mansion/manor/chateau does Home really need? Apparently, nDreams thinks these two are in order. The developers are really running out of ideas.

Running out of ideas or just going for quick easy money. Is it our fault because loads of users still blindly just buy anything thats new, not because it’s quality, not because its better than what they have, just because it’s new and I must support home or have the bragging rights to some claim like I have all the spaces. This space is unnecessary and no better than what I have already so I’m not buying it
