The Top Ten SCEA Home Value Items for December
by Kassadee Marie, HSM team writer
Like beauty, value is in the eye of the beholder.
In other words, what one person sees as value, another person may not. Value, as I understand it, is a cost-to-worth relationship, and I can only tell you what I perceive as having value in Home purchases. Following are the items that I consider are the best value for the past month, and I’ll tell you why I think so, for each item or package. This isn’t a list of my favorite things for the month and they’re not always the least expensive item(s), either. It should be no surprise that bundles make up the majority of the best values on Home, as combined items sell for less in a pack than they do purchased separately. You may not want every item in a bundle, but when you like most of the items included, they can be quite a bargain.
Note: Although these items are numbered, it’s not meant to be a top value to least value list, but rather my value choices for the month overall. I didn’t include free items and I also didn’t try to choose one of each type of item, such as estate, locomotion, furniture pack, clothing item, etc. If I had this would have been a somewhat different list.
1. JAM Games’ Snow Globe Mega Bundle for $ 8.99. This estate is a unique idea in Home personal spaces, being a small space inside of a snow globe, which is in turn seemingly located inside of another estate, The Jam Jar. While that’s a unique idea, the best part of this package may be the extras. From the three piece “Traditional Christmas bundle” that matches the free snow globe ornament – that’s actually a table with a snow globe on it – to the vivid blue Mr. And Mrs. Frost outfits for the ladies and gentlemen – which are are unique to this package – these ornaments, furniture items, and outfits are something special. I love the four-piece snowman family!
2. VEEMEE’s Winter Clothing Mega Bundle for $ 11.99. With more and more public and private Winter spaces, you’ll want to get your wardrobe set for this season on Home. Enjoy the bright colors and cute sweater styles in this bundle all winter long. These two packs offer 30 pieces of clothing for the guys or for the ladies, to set you up in style for the Winter. There are even gloves, hats, and earmuffs. Purchased separately these items would be $24.73, so this bundle price is about half off or less than $.50 for each item. That’s savings!
3. Lockwood’s Fool Throttle Venetian Ball Pack – Duke or Duchess for $ 2.99 each. If you like to dress up in the style of another era, you’ll enjoy these two outfit bundles for the ladies and gentlemen of Home. There are five pieces for the guys, including a cane and four pieces for the ladies, including a hairdo. There are several estates on Home where these outfits will fit in wonderfully, such as The Ballroom (of course) or the Assassin’s Creed apartment. By the way, these sets are in the gift machine in other colors, if you want to gift a friend or prefer these colors for yourself.
4. nDreams’ Christmas Reindeer Complete Bundle for $ 4.99. If you enjoy the truly unusual, take a look at these full body costumes that look like human/reindeer hybrids. This bundle provides the outfits in three color styles for males and females, including glistening and Gothic. The elegant walk locomotion is included in the bundle for both genders, also. Purchased separately this bundle would total $14.92. If you prefer to just buy for one gender, the set of three styles and the elegant walk is $3.49 for male or female only versions.
5. Sony’s Christmas Decorations Bundle or Animated Fake Window Bundle for $3.49 each . These two three-item sets are really great offerings from Sony and the items in each bundle would cost $4.47 if purchased separately. The holiday decoration bundle has a large Santa throne with candy cane decor; reindeer that sparkle to add a little holiday glamour to any outdoor scene; and a beautiful, glittering white Christmas tree. The window bundle offers three animated seasonal scenes, snow (Winter), beach (Summer), and garden (Spring) to change the view for most of the seasons.
6. Toylogic’s Ornaments, Furniture, and Jewelry Items for $.49 to $1.99. I hope you haven’t over-looked these very appealing non-bundled items from a rather new developer. If you have, be sure to go and review all of their offerings. Their items are colorful, interesting, and well-made. Check out their very nice looking ethnic clothing pieces and don’t miss their wonderful garden items. There are so many to choose from, there’s sure to be several things you’ll want to pick up. They also make two of the largest, best looking snowmen (and two smaller versions) on Home.
7. Granzella’s Silent Night Cat-Style 10-piece Set (Women) for $ 2.49. It’s Granzella’s habit to have “flying events” which require certain outfits to be worn in order to participate and the December event at the newly decorated Plaza in Twilight space is no exception. Two different clothing sets work here for the game for the ladies and one for the guys. The really nice thing about this is that the rewards are worth more than the cost of any of these sets. One is a fun LMO where your avatar is riding in a flying sleigh pulled by a reindeer and the other is a companion reindeer with sled who flies all around you. This particular bundle is two complete holiday-color re-skins of a recent outfit for the ladies, so it’s even more of a value than usual.
8. Lockwood’s Tomo Mega Bundle or Ayuri Mega Bundle for $3.99 each. If you love anime (and who doesn’t?) you may want to pick up one of these bundles suitable to your gender or both bundles if you use both genders on Home. The guys’ bundle has a hairdo, boots, pants, and two different styles of tops, one of which is a school blazer. The ladies bundle has a hairdo, lace-up boots, and two complete outfits, one of which is the typical anime school uniform. You may also want to pick up the Anime Kitsune Masks Value Pack for $2.99 for males or females to wear with these sets.
9. Lockwood’s Dream Forest Paradise for $ 5.99 or Clubhouse for $6.99. A wonderful new estate has been added to Lockwood’s Dream World series and this one is very different from other estates in this universe. Located in an exotic jungle, here you can swim in the lagoon with the colorful fish; enjoy the incredible views from your cliff-hanging ultra-modern treehouse; or relax near the fire pit with friends and enjoy the gentle sounds of the waterfalls. As usual for Lockwood estates, rewards are offered a daily basis for a number of days.
10. Juggernaut Holiday Bundle for $ 10.99. Wow! Juggernaut just never disappoints, do they? We’ve been requesting musical instruments that we can play ourselves and they have provided them for us in a major way. This package has seven active item instruments to play in harmony, plus a caroler’s music stand that knows if your avatar is male or female and sings accordingly. There are also nine instrument or singing locomotions in this bundle. They’ve even added a holiday-decorated romantic fireplace and snow globe ornament that’s actually a holiday decorating kit and allows you to place up to 35 ornaments in your estate for only three furniture slots.
Honorable mention: e-Hug Entertainment’s Fun Emotes for $2.99. We’ve really wanted hugs on Home for a long time. Konami’s Game Cabinets for $1.49. More games for HearItWow. Lockwood’s Abbey Hill Cottage – Winter Retreat Ultimate Bundle for $ 8.99. A really nice re-skin with skating! Sony’s Dark Elf and Good Elf for $ 1.49. Welcome back to an old friend and his evil twin. madmunki’s Spun’mas tree for $2.49. A whole new look for a Christmas tree, gifts included.
There are a lot of year end sales going on right now from almost every developer and I hope you’re looking over these bundles and discounts for more value purchases. As usual, there will be no more new content until the second week in January, so here’s your chance to pick up any value items that you missed all year long. Happy New Year to you all!
