Not So Basic Dani
by Kassadee Marie, HSM team writer
I’m a girl who likes to feel pretty and feminine almost all the time. I like to have my nails done, my hair styled, and a touch of makeup on before I go out the front door. I not only coordinate my tops and bottoms, I like to have my socks and kicks match the colors in my outfits, too. When I have an occasion to really dress up and put on high heels with a skirt or dress, I’m very happy. I usually wear black for formal settings, but my favorite color is yellow, and I love pink, too. Yes, I wear shorts and tee-shirts in the summer a lot and blue jeans and sweatshirts in the winter, like most northern Californian girls do.
But what I don’t like to see when I go out is someone dressed just like me.
We all want to feel we have a unique look and not just a copy of another person’s style on Home, too. That’s why we love outfits that come in separates. There’s nothing like a large selection of clothing items to mix and match to make you feel that your look is truly your own. Dani has a new line of clothing, and that’s just what this collection offers to the ladies of Home.
Her “Not So Basic” line offers a lot of choices – which we love, love, love. Three sets are offered for sale and you can choose from polka dots, plaid, and lace patterned tops, that come with matching items. Each of these bundles include two blouses, a skirt or pair of shorts, and strapped sandals. The tops come in collared and choker styles in each set, while the skirts come in two different styles, one with an asymmetrical hemline, and the sandals come in low, medium and high straps.
Dani’s clothing almost always has an understated sexiness – sophisticated and not obvious — and these sets are not an exception. You’ll find these items have the same sensuality about them as her other clothing items, with form fitting tops with strategic openings that are designed to really show off your avatar’s body and either short shorts or short skirts with side slits. Even the high-heeled sandals make a sultry statement.
I’m looking forward to mixing and matching these pieces with other Dani clothing also, such as a top or bottom from her Thunderstorm set or her Autumn Inspiration outfits or something from her “U Love Green” line.
So far, this new line of clothing is only offered in basic black and white, but we can hope for more color choices in the future. Here’s hoping for a mega-bundle of all three packs, also. But if not, I’ll be picking up all three packs anyway. More choices!
Hold the Presses!
Not So Basic1.2 has been released, so there are even more wonderful choices to mix and match now.
This offering has three new sets of clothing; each set again has two tops, a skirt, and matching shoes. One set has a short, short skirt with a wide side slit, and tops in solid white and solid back with adorable heart cutouts. A second set has a short skirt with a more modest side slit and a scalloped hemline. The top is offered in solid black and in black and white plaid, both with scalloped details around the arm openings and the cutout. The third set has a skirt with a fun scalloped hemline, longer in the back than the front. The two tops in this set are very similar to the ones in the second set with the same scalloped details; the difference is the bodice detail of stripes or polka dots.
These new items will work well with the first release of Dani’s new Not So Basic line, of course. I can’t wait to try out some combinations of my own.

I’ve now had a chance to try on all of the pieces in both the original 1.1 sets and the just released (in Europe) 1.2 sets and I have to say these outfits, especially the shorts and skirts are less “under-stated” that Dani’s usual clothing. I now rate them in the “not for the shy” category. I know a lot of people are going to love the look of all of these outfits… and ladies, be ready for lots of attention while wearing them.
