Working Out

by FEMAELSTROM, HSM team writer

VEEMEE has recently come out with a set of three items that I really love, and they have fast become a part of the daily routine for me: the ‘My Gym’ exercise equipment set. They are fun, and  a great addition to any estate games we play.

Simply place the equipment in your estate and then perform a daily workout on your choice of either a stationary bike, a treadmill or a rowing machine. Each one piece takes up sixteen furniture slots and is made as a button-matching game. They are sold for $2.49 each or $4.99 as a set (of three) in the VEEMEE store under the My Gym slot, and so far come in just white. Recently they updated the collection with the addition of an elliptical, a stair climber and a weight lifting set, and that just increases the fun.

PS3 buttonsThis game has been a great thing for me for one simple reason: I was never very strong at button-matching portions of video games, but the play on this is simply tuning up the ability to do just that: button match.  The idea is simple: there is a heart meter at the top of the screen, and when the pulse hits the right point, match the press of your button with what is displayed on the screen.

A quick side note: VEEMEE also showed that they are in touch with the community when they fixed a small issue that people voiced concern over. The pulse screen needed to be more distinct visually, and VEEMEE stepped in and modified the game to make it easier on the eyes.

That's me, all strong like.

That’s me, looking all sorts of strong.

As the session goes, the pace will accelerate, until the 30-second session is done. After ten days, you rank up to level one; ten more days, level two. And each progression is thirty points. This is currency, so the user can go into the VEEMEE store connected to the exercise machines and buy gear that is exercise-oriented. There are various colors and styles of  athletic shirts, and athletic trunks as well as hand items like weights and water bottles and equipment. There are even LMOs of running in place and rolling tumbles.

This has become a lot of fun to add to my daily rounds, which currently include the Digital Leisure Casino, nDreams’ Aurora Orb Running and the Acorn Park racing games. The VEEMEE machines are fun and are worth a look, or at least a play if you try it out at somebody else’s estate. But I’m sure if you try it, you will like it too. Take a look into it.

FEMAELSTROM came to Home in June 2011 and never wanted to leave, even at weekly maintenance when he usually gets booted. The sand box environment appeals to the explorer in him and often is out and about as he ‘geeks’ out dressed like some sort of sci-fi character, while he people watches in popular public spaces. An artist and writer, FEMAELSTROM loves making friends and meeting people. He loves sci-fi and decorating Home estates and loves to respond “here” when people ask “where are you from?” in public places.
