Dani Goes Halloween

by Kassadee Marie, HSM team writer

We’ve seen a lot of new and interesting Halloween costumes this year from a variety of our most active developers, and that’s just plain wonderful. There have been vampires, werewolves, mummies, mad scientists, and zombies — and there’s still more to come with two more Wednesdays before the holiday. It’s fun to dress up for the season in real life or in our virtual life on Home and we all love having choices.

But, sometimes, we ladies would like a Halloween look that’s not specifically a witch or a vampire or a princess or a cat. We’d like a hint of the season without our clothes being an overly obvious costume.

If any Home designer were to make a incredibly stylish and sexy (but not over the top) outfit for the ladies for Halloween with nearly universal appeal, it would be Dani – and she did! The brand new Thunderstorm outfit is available in your choice of black or red from Codeglue. Recently, Dani added a new flair to her line with animated sparkles and now she has added even more animation with these “lightning strikes” tops. By the way, after Halloween is over, you can switch to the un-animated top that has it’s own slightly different style for a great look that’s not defined by the Halloween season, if you wish.

Some of the best features of this creative outfit are the choices Dani has thoughtfully provided for us. You have your choice of cute shorts with laces and solid leggings or a skirt with a varied length hemline and dance pants, completed with fishnet stockings. Both of these pieces also have thigh-high leather boots with silver heels. You also have your choice between two tops with slightly different styles that come with a matching necklace, arm warmers, and her signature flower details that have a new look to them. As stated above, one of the styles includes lightning animations. And, last but not least, you have your choice between two great colors, either of which are perfect for not only the holiday season, but any time you feel like “going Gothic” — or if that’s your normal Home style.

As usual, another choice that she gives us is that all of the items are offered in a bundle for a great savings, or you can buy each and any of the pieces separately. The five-piece bundled pack will cost $2.99 and it will include the animated lightning top with necklace; the un-animated top with necklace; the skirt and boots; the shorts and boots; and large color coordinated rings. Each of these items will be also be sold separately for $.99 each, except the rings which are offered for $.49 only.

As a Home user herself, the artist and stylist Dani always puts a great deal of thought into her designs and you can tell this by the care in her overall design of the outfits, all of the details she adds to her pieces, and the extras she includes at various times, such as sunglasses, purses, shoes, and jewelry. This outfit is certainly no exception to that level of thoughtfulness. The only change I would make, if I were able, would be to add more color choices, such as deep green and/or blue, and maroon and/or dark purple. White would make for a really interesting look, too.

Now all I have to do is decide if I’ll purchase the red bundle or the black bundle. Maybe both?

Home is endlessly entertaining to this California girl. Kassadee has been in Home for about four years, and loves almost everything about it (with a few notable exceptions). She spends way too much money there, and perhaps too much time... Someday she will travel the world and write about the people she meets and the places she sees.

I love the boots! Can they please be made as separate items! In a bunch of colors!
