“Bro, do you even gift?”

by Susan, HSM team writer

Be good, show aloha, don’t misbehave in life and during the winter equinox a robust man with eight tiny reindeer will stop by your snowy cottage, eat your food, drink your wine and then tell you he isn’t leaving his wife — anyway, he leaves a present for you if you’re good, and if you misbehave that gift is a lump of coal.

Recently, I asked a lot of people on PlayStation Home about their favorite items from Lockwood. And I was surprised to find the Gift Machine at the top of that list.

A free active item using 22 item slots, the Lockwood Gift machine this week has a ton of content coming out for it. The community has embraced this machine — and rightfully so, for it has constantly been updated in a timely and consistent basis for the past one-hundred weeks.

Personally, I gift stuff all the time. It’s fun to look over someone’s wish list and see the items they are choosing. It’s inexpensive, and a great way to show your friendship. I myself do not have a wish list, but I am always surprised when I receive a gift from someone — it feels very serendipitous.

Bro_V2_161013_1280x720So what do you do with a friend who doesn’t return the favor — even after many texts, emails and threatening phone calls, they still never gift you anything? Or is that friend always whining about how he never receives anything from anyone from the Gift Machine? Because we still don’t have enough of them, this week Lockwood, in celebration of the success of the Gift Machine, is handing out free tee shirts to everyone.

That’s right — another tee shirt. But remember, this one is giftable to all your friends, and it’s free — so you can save those credits for some of the other items coming out this week.

Chic, stylish and wearable, the newest batch of clothing this week from the Gift Machine will have you immediately updating your wishlist so you can stay ahead of today’s fashion trends. The ladies will now have have a new selection of polka-dotted cardigans, v-neck tee shirts, a stylish shirt dress and a pair of what is termed “comfy slouch cargo pants” — in other words, the Sodium Blimp pants with a stretch waistband. The guys now have to choose from a new mix and match of separates that includes an emo-inspired admiral jacket, a preppy knitted pullover for those cool nights at the Pier Park on the Ferris wheel, a casual cargo jacket, some different colors of distressed jeans and a number of v-neck tees.

Whew, that’s a lot! And there’s more.

VictorianaLike every year, when All Hallows’ Eve draws nigh, the zombie apocalypse approaches closer and closer. And what better way to join the in crowd that to have the Zombie LMO from the Gift Machine? No use going to all that trouble to become a zombie and not have the walk down, lest you become a useless zombie, which leads you to try out for a local cheerleading squad. Don’t become a useless cheerleading zombie — put the Zombie walk LMO on your wishlist today.

Also in the theme of things, Delirious Squid’s Gothic Furniture collection has new ghoulish items that even Barnabas Collins and Christopher Lee would go antiquing for.  Create the perfect ghoulish ambiance one needs in order to become a master of the night with this ensemble of  hand crafted, imported from Transylvania and assembled locally in PlayStation Home furniture items.

Now that we have covered the newest releases from the Lockwood gift machine, let’s take a look at what’s coming out in the store this week for the Home community. Let’s stay on the Halloween theme, because Lockwood has even more stuff with the ghoulish duo of Skinny Vinny the Skeleton Groom and Skinny Ginny, his Skeleton Bride. What better way to celebrate Halloween with a wedding, and what better way than with these two avatars — each at a an inexpensive $1.99, and both available right now in x7.

And let’s not forget, because it’s so awesome it’s worth repeating — Lockwood has released a new boat, sorta, The Nightmare Yacht for just $5.99. Remember, you will be boarding that cursed vessel at your own peril. It looks like Lockwood Publishing has the upcoming Halloween festivities covered for you and your friends this year to have a perfect party.

Also in the store this week are new dance moves from Drop Science called Body Pop. We have a default dance called that, but these new moves take it to a whole another level. Put together a combination of moves and you will be serving those beat box boys their walking papers at The Playgrounds’ back lot. A set of four fresh moves are available for my homies who are looking for those mad dance skillz. The Stut, a Glide Turn, Tutting and the Puppet all mean nothing to me, as I am a Pop-and-Lock person, but if you’re wanting to be on America’s Best Dance Crew and have the fame of the Jabberwockies, you will definitely need to have these in your inventory.

Iron_Fusion_Elders_161013_1280x720In space no one can hear you scream — about the lack of  high end fashion wear one needs when attending futuristic formal gatherings. Now the guys at Iron Fusion have solved that, with an ensemble called the Elder Prestige Collection. Touted as a collection combining innovative cuts and hi tech fabric to provide ultra modern fashions, this is a must have for any elder statesman or woman. It comes in both male and female at $2.99 for the bundle. Or you can purchase each piece for only $0.99 — and it is available in x7 right now.

The last thing coming out this week is something HUGE. I was speechless when I saw this video and to be honest I am going to just let the video speak for itself.

Right now in x7, you can get the Caveman and Cavewoman outfits for $2.99. That includes a Wrap Top (Torso Straps for guys), Skirt (Loin Cloth), Boots, Club (gotta have a club), a hair style and a Tooth necklace which are each $0.99 if you purchased them individually. The Prehistoric Valley will be available in the Lockwood Gift Machine, so your friends can recreate their own version of Jurassic Park. And it will be available in the store as well.

I don’t know about you all, but that’s a lot of stuff from Lockwood this week. It has a little of everything for everyone. Make sure to keep your gift machine cleaned in case you are the recipient of some of these spectacular items being released this week.

Just when I thought nothing could surprise me on PlayStation Home, along comes Prehistoric Valley. And now with the new Body Pop dance moves, my cavewoman avatar will be the most sought-after by the local tribe of cavemen.

That is how Doc and I are spending our Halloween. By getting married in real life!

    • Susan says:

Congrats, to celebrate it in Home, will you be using the Skinny Vinny and Skinny Ginny avatars and will you be having it on the Lockwood Nightmare Yacht?

    • Dr_Do-Little says:

      We do? ;)

The wedding won’t be on Home but in Vegas with a few friends from Home…. Not that different!

I’m not much of a “gifter” in life. I’ll give you time if you need help, But giving some useless tringkets that goes right into storage, on Home or in physical life is not my cup of tea. So when I first saw that machine my socialist side went “OMG”!

With time I did “came to peace” with it thou. When a good friend of mine had a problem with her account I spent a good chunk of money helping her to get a head start with her new avatar.
