Lockwood’s Latest Home Injection
by Susan, HSM team writer
It was just the other day: I had wrapped up doing a double shift at Scorpio’s, looked at my work uniform and thought, I really needed something more in line with today’s style. It had to be durable enough for this harsh environment and come in red. Nothing really new it seems has been developed for us working folk to wear, and I was wondering: did Lockwood forget about us?
If I remember correctly, the Sodium Universe was the beginning of their empire (under their own name) in PlayStation Home. Even Lockwood says that they wouldn’t be Lockwood without Sodium. Well, my question is being answered this week, as Lockwood Publishing is revamping their popular wardrobe line-up, labeled as the Salopette-Style Dungaree.
I had to look both of those words up: salopette and dungaree. (Shush, you.) As much as I enjoying saying the word like I had an Italian accent, salopette is actually a word from France describing a type of overall, bib and brace, and apparently dungarees are trousers or overalls made out of a sturdy fabric and typically denim is used. The ones designed by Lockwood have thick straps for holding up those heavy trousers, and unfortunately you will have to get used to showing your, um, coin slot in the back, since you cannot put up those straps. Not to sure how I feel about their choice in undergarments as I would have preferred to wear a thong instead of those briefs that come with the pants.
They are adding several more colors which use descriptive words such as, “zesty yellow,” “dramatic red,” “eye popping blue” and “cool white”. I recently obtained a pair of the combat pattern which can be purchased in x7 right now, and at at mere $0.99 apiece you can guarantee I will be grabbing a pair of the “dramatic red” ones. If you’re in the mood to send your friends a gift, these must-have pants will also be available in the Lockwood Gift Machine at a paltry 64 coins.
Meanwhile, Lockwood’s Delirious Squid this week is reaching out its tentacles to all you Gothic and Horror fans, and will be adding a new look to their already well-established Victorian Gothic lineup called Magick. I am sure I am like a majority of the Home community, that when I hear something like the word “gothic” as related to colors, blacks, deep reds and lavish purple hues come to mind. Delirious Squid has always been thinking outside the box, and this time they are setting another trend by introducing a couple of new colors to some of their key items to the Magick collection.
The guys who brought you the Mr. Ska Bones and Al Cabone companions have now included the not so typical colors of pristine white and silver to the collection while maintaining that Victorian Gothic appeal. You can still purchase the original collection in the store or gift something to your friends in need through the Lockwood Gift Machine. The new color options will be available in the store just in time for your upcoming Halloween party. You will be able to purchase them as individual pieces or as one big bundle of goodies. I own quite few of Delirious Squid’s Victorian collection, and am really looking forward to these new color choices. If you’re not feeling the pristine white coffin — and even if you’re not into Goth — that’s okay, but can you really pass up on an elegant sterling silver candelabra?
That seems to be the great strength to Lockwood, isn’t it? Something for everyone, practically every week. No wonder they’re one of Home’s most prominent developers.
