Saddle Up, and Get Ready To Pull Some Weeds

by Susan, HSM team writer

As if my life on PlayStation Home isn’t busy enough with having to keep earning those Sodium credits in order to pay for my ever-spiraling addictions, now we can finally and truly demonstrate to everyone their ability to take a page out of a Better Homes and Garden magazine and create their personal Garden of Eden.

This complicates things for me.

Whenever I can find the time and have the need to decorate a space in Home, I go usually go overboard and always reach the maximum items allowed. I have always included plants (and a pizza) in my layouts, and have even used the Urban Camo Potted Tree avatar for a few videos, but now Lockwood Publishing in their content release for this week “…has everything we need to get gardening.”

If I can max out the item limit in just one corner of the Harbor studio, how in the virtual world do they expect me to find a place to add a secluded oasis adorned with attractive plants, colorful flowers and even a garden ornament or two?

Green Acres here I come.

Green Acres here I come.

No matter what space I choose to use to create a garden that would make even Martha Stewart jealous, I can take comfort in the fact that my friends can assist in keeping the weeds out of my garden because not only will they be available in the store, but Lockwood’s very popular Gift Machine will have some items such as gloves and aprons they can use to keep their manicured nails from breaking and those couture Drey clothes from getting dirty.  If you are enjoying Home in Asia or Japan these items will be released the 21st of August, and in SCEE Home a week later.

Speaking of the Lockwood’s Gift Machine, this week you will now find some new footwear to send to your friends.  This makes me happy because I get so worried about all of those people you see running around places like the Adventure District or even the Mall barefooted.  Lockwood has decided that it was time to update their animated high top collection for the summer of 2013 — and it’s for us ladies only!

Got a friend who has an ensemble that is begging for a new set of kicks? Gift them a set of these, and before you know it they will be holding down the basketball court at Playground. These glowing animated high tops come in four different colors, from a shiny black to a stand-out red (my personal choice) and can be purchased in either a bundle pack (another personal choice) or you can get then individually. Just like the gardening goodies, if you live in another region other than SCEA Home, you will have to wait a week or two.  Must be the postal service that is causing these delays.

(As an aside: we’re hearing rumors that Home content submission windows are getting jampacked and booked up very far in advance now. What is going on that’s causing such a rush?)

Last in this content release from Lockwood Publishing is the much awaited expansion to the public Prairie space: Riders of the Prairie.  Now you and your friends can re-create some old-school television shows like Bonanza, Gunsmoke and Little House on the Prairi — the shows that opened our eyes to how life in the Wild West was like, or at least a glamourized Hollywood interpretation thereof.  When I first saw the the video  trailer for this release, I immediately started to think of a spaghetti western called Once Upon a Time in the West (I was so envisioning Charles Bronson playing his harmonica as Henry Ford came into the scene to be the badass he is!).  I love this video trailer and the only thing I considered missing was at the end where maybe just a single gunshot should have been heard.

If you always wanted to have a a stable, wanted to run a saloon or just felt the need to gather tumbleweeds, Lockwood has just the items for you.  You can have a selection of nine horses to decide on which one will be assisting you weeding that garden.  Seven of the horses come with saddles and for the other two you will definitely need a set of chaps if you are deciding doing some trail riding.  Lockwood has priced these items so that it almost makes sense to grab the bundle pack instead of just buying a piece or two — a clubhouse, personal space and horses all for $12.99 is a pretty darn good deal.

This week, Lockwood Publishing has decided that not only can they design futuristic goodies like their Sodium series, but they can take us back into time with some well detailed and expansive settings via their new Riders of the Prairie apartment and clubhouse. The newest updated shoe line, up for us females, will have any girl looking uber urban cool and having those boys drooling instead of dribbling.  If you can keep the horses from eating the plants in your newly planted garden, Lockwood has given you the means to keep your flowers looking fresh — and with their fashionable aprons and gloves, keep you looking snazzy. All of these items will be released this week into PlayStation Home North America, as Asia has a release next week and those across the pond will have their content released on the 28th of August.

If you decide to saddle up and go for a ride, or need help with your garden ideas, hit me up and let’s go explore Lockwood’s new Riders of the Prairie space — or we can go and plant some daisies. Either way, it’ll be fun.

    Howdy Sue,
Good read there. I love the detail Lockwood put into the prairie. I haven’t gotten the gardening set yet but I am an avid gardener in rlw so I will most likely pick this up too. :)
