VEEMEE’s Street Styles

by Kassadee Marie, HSM team writer

VEEMEE has been a very active Home developer in the last few months. While they’ve been a presence on Home since January 11, 2010, lately they have become what may be the number one developer in Home by content volume. In addition to the incredible public spaces, Acorn Meadows Park and the night time, Independence Day version, they have produced the 3D printer, which has already been added to; the “My” line of products such as “My Gym” and “My Bathroom” and a lot of branded clothing, such as Wrangler, Billabong and Inverse and more. You’ll often find their items a week in advance, if you have access to the x7 club, where they are featured almost every week.

One new line of clothing that shouldn’t be overlooked in their multitude of new and older products is their own brand “Street Style.” The Urban Dictionary’s first definition of  street is, “of or pertaining to the urban “street” culture, underground, based around the core of hip-hop, skateboarding, BMX, etc.”

Whether you’re male or female, if you like virtual clothes that fit well and are fun and stylish – that have a certain flair and make a fashion statement – you’ll love this line of clothing. The point here is perhaps “street goes sophisticated,” because these unique styles are something new and improved for this genre. These styles could also be known as “underground with class.” Many of these items can be paired with a few other items in the line, or clothes you may have already in your wardrobe, such as miniskirts and boots or heels for the ladies and black pants and colorful matching sneaks for the guys.

These pieces go also wonderfully well with a lot of the current dances, especially those with the same expressive style; poses that are a bit arrogant, perhaps; gestures, especially several packs with those gestures that are, shall we say, less than well-mannered or have even slightly aggressive type gestures; and LMO’s like motorcycles, skateboards and hover discs. Try them out with those you own now and see if you like the look. I’m betting you will.

This line of clothing has 22 items for the ladies, currently. There is a very stylish dress-and-jacket outfit in three fabulous shimmery color combinations of black with a gold jacket, hot pink with a silver jacket, and dark blue with a silver jacket. There are also harem-styled pants in two dark colors with gold or silver details and seventeen tops, most of which come with jackets or they are jackets. A few of the jackets have turned up collars, so you will need short hairdos or up-lifted styles in order not to clip with them. A lot of the tops are black, as you would expect, but there are also a variety of bright colors such as yellow and pink and other shimmery colors, such as gold, silver and bronze. There’s even a white top. Some are cropped tops and some are long. Most of the items have necklaces or bracelets included and a little extra bling is always nice. There’s such a wide selection, that it’s hard to choose a favorite. But because I love yellow, the “Shoulder Slung Top – Yellow – Stars” and the “Mega-star Dress and Jacket – Black” (with gold jacket) are my first choices.

Megastar Hip Hop Jacket - Orange

This product line also has 28 items for the guys. All of them are tops, which is a bit of a disappointment, as I would really like to see what VEEMEE would do with street-styled men’s pants. Again, a lot of these tops are jackets or include jackets and a lot of them are black. But some of them also come in unusual, but still masculine, colors such as bright shades of green or blue and some very deep reds. Some have touches of orange or gold and one has a pattern called “jaguar.” Chains, sweatbands, bracelets or scarves are included with many of the selections and three of them, called “Mega-star Hiphop” have animated details on the sleeves, that are a real attention-getters.

So far, all of the items in the collection have been nicely priced at $.99 each.

Due to the great look, fit and pricing of these items, I hope that VEEMEE extends this product line in the future. In addition to new colors and styles, I’d love to see what they’d do with male pants, kicks, hats, hairstyles and separate accessories. I’d also love to see what they could do with street dances, poses and gestures of their own.

Home is endlessly entertaining to this California girl. Kassadee has been in Home for about four years, and loves almost everything about it (with a few notable exceptions). She spends way too much money there, and perhaps too much time... Someday she will travel the world and write about the people she meets and the places she sees.

The Street Style clothing is by far the best urban style clothing to ever release on Home. The styles are impeccable and not overly exaggerated with the stereotype.

What’s even better is the price tag on every item.

This is a good article, K Marie.
