Strut Your Stuff in Boots and Bathing Suits
by Susan, HSM team writer
Rhino Records recording artist Nancy Sinatra became famous for a song called These Boots are Made for Walking. The song was about a girl who was in love with a guy who was cheating on her and she was walking out the door, adios, chump.
In my opinion the boots that were worn in that 1966 video were made for more than walking. I would say that piercing a man’s heart on your way out the door is insinuated. I am proud to say I own a pair like them on Home, and of course they are in red – and the pleasure of piercing a man’s heart with them is still eluding me.
If you’re in the market for a pair of boots that are actually designed for walking, Lockwood Publishing this week is releasing a collection of them. The boots are made to be pulled up to just below the kneecap, and will be able to protect you from those ever more present Home mites and are designed with a wedge heel which will provide good support while either strolling around the mall or squishing scorpions.
Lockwood has also designed the boots to come in ten different colors and a variety of patterns, from a “tbaby84″ pink to a Tony the Tiger print. Lockwood has released a statement saying that Tony was not harmed in the making of those boots, but one can’t help but wonder.
Speaking of Nancy Sinatra and 1966, the term retro is being used more and more these days. The adage that history repeats itself becomes more repetitive the longer I get to exist on this galactic orb, and Lockwood this week has introduced a new line up of bathing suits inspired by those days of ’32 roadster hotrods, soda jerks and the beehive hairdo.
The Beach Beauties ensemble is a collection of bathing suits that, according to Lockwood, “show off those curves without showing off to much skin”. I’m not exactly sure what they mean by that, it’s about time that the curvy women got some recognition here on Home. If the average dimensions of an avatar are proportional to real life, then we would have no overweight people. Maybe that’s why there’s no McDonald’s on Home.
It is appearing to me that the tops of women’s clothing items on Home have shown a propensity to accentuate the need to have plastic surgery. The designs lately appear to be made to please the predominantly male community and not for the woman Home user who just wants to look nice for herself. I like the patterns of these suits which do come in three different colors – two with polka dots and one solid color. They are also offering a headscarf in matching color and it has a matching bow sewn into the material.
This week Lockwood has shown us that some things never go out of style. They have designed for us this time a couple of items that are always in demand – boots and bathing suits – both of which remind me of a time when this country was defining itself. The bathing suits are well designed for the era they are representing and I keep envisioning Happy Days on the TV. The boots are cute and a lot different with their wedge heel, and I think the chosen patterns will appeal to almost everyone.

I like that Lockwood has brought us boots with more colors, something that is truly missing in our wardrobes, I just wish they were thigh highs like the old Paris boots are. If they come out with boots with regular heels and thigh high in a variety of colors like these are, every woman in Home will buy them, at least all the ones I know will.
I agree to this.
The Stiletto Boots being one of the examples to this. I laud the design but HATE how they were grafted with Shorts and Jeans, and not made separately. But Lockwood has proven that they have a diverse selection of Footwear for all.
If only the Beach Beauties sold separately. I love variating
