Express Your Color! by Dani MtlDesigner

By Jin Lovelace, HSM team writer and filmmaker

One of the things that I love about fashion is the diversity one finds to freely express yourself the way you desire, and not just superficially speaking. Be it your personality, artistic talents, or your emotions, there’s enough of it to go around to clearly explore each facet.

For me, it’s about comfort. The way I truly portray myself on Home is much akin to who I am in real life: just laid back and one with nature. I like to think of myself as someone who feels that when you allow the gentle breeze to relax your mind and let tomorrow worry about itself, you truly are at your best. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out in your favor, though, and the clothes just don’t fit the attitude.

But for this year’s summer fashions, I’d say it did.

Dani MtlDesigner’s new fashion collection, Express Your Color, allows me to adhere to my beliefs with a fantastic, sensual, and very relaxing summer dress that you can wear anytime with six vibrant colors that’s pleasant to the eyes. Out of the six to choose from (Blue, Green, Peach, Pink, Black, and White), I find myself donning the peach gown more often.

For this presentation, Dani and myself decided to have some fun with a few photo shoots of the fashions she designed. While the majority of the presentation was taken place over in Lockwood’s Venue personal space, I felt it was a tad bit too dark for the black and white dresses. The beach paradise was my final option and the results were exactly what I was looking for.

Normally, my music selections lean towards the relaxing touch, but I felt it was time to take it up a notch to fit the setting and the style of the dress itself. So I decided to fit a nice, soft-sounding dance track by Something A La Mode. Yes, weird name, but the I tell you – track is quality!

I wish to thank Ms. Dani for allowing me to perform some photo shoots of the fashions and her help in this video presentation. It was an absolutely great experience.

I hope you enjoy.
