Club Luminosity: It Has 99 Problems, but The Price Ain’t One

by KLCGame, HSM team writer

I’ll be honest here, I actually really do enjoy Konami’s item catalog on Home. Unfortunately, they do always seem to trip up and have little hiccups with quite a few of their items, Sometimes it’s just really small things such as being listed just fifty cents too much or maybe it just wants to slowly drive you insane be repeating the company’s name EVERY fifteen seconds.

However, every once in a while, we get something like Club Luminosity.

Now I’m not saying the space is bad (I’ve seen a few that are worse, although those are very few) but it definitely isn’t great. That said, with some tweaks, it could be deemed almost acceptable.

Now let me lay it all out there, the good, the bad — and the straight-up ugly.

I had to scrape the bottom of the barrel a bit here, but I did find a few good things about it. The size of the space is surprisingly really good; it’s big but due to the little nooks it makes it pretty easy to decorate. Now some may think this space has to be some sort of really bad joke, but I think I can see where Konami was coming from because this space fits their Raver collection like a glove. It may seem like overkill for the personal space, but the thirty-two seats baked into the space is just perfect for the clubhouse. Even though most people will probably add seats any way, you really don’t have to. Another thing that isn’t as important nowadays as it used to be, but I still enjoy pointing it out, is that there are eleven wall hanging spaces. However please note, the lighting is quite surprisingly (or maybe unsurprisingly, given this is supposed to be a nightclub) not good in all spots, so take that into account.PlayStation(R)Home Picture 07-15-2013 19-05-22

Now to the one thing I was most conflicted about, so I will be listing it as a pro & con. The space itself is $5.99,which is really good, but due to no bundle pack for the furniture (each of the twelve pieces is $0.99), the true price including all furniture goes up to $17.87. You may want to add another $5.99 if you buy the clubhouse because that is not in a bundle pack, either.

Taking the total price into account, that makes this one of the more expensive modern places on Home, and it would not include as much as other similar priced bundles such as Lockwood’s Jewel of the Skies treasure pack which is $17.99 but includes the furniture pack, personal space, a few LMO’s, clothing, and a companion. Another similar priced bundle pack would be Juggernaut’s Palace of the Seven Winds Sultan bundle, which is also $17.99 and it also includes furniture, the personal space, a couple of outfits in both genders but also a clubhouse skin.

Now brace yourself for some of the problems.

I won’t be nitpicking and listing all the problems or we would be here all day. If you have not set your Home master volume lower than default, prepare for the mind-numbing loudness. So be ready for your ears to bleed after sticking around and listening to the music which is really bad.

But wait, it gets better! Not really.

That music cannot be muted, so no relief by using the LOOT EOD radio.

The stairway up to the second floor and my reaction after seeing it.

Now the ugly part of this review, if I say so myself.

The worst things about the entire space without a doubt are the bright lights, the decor (outside of the really cool planetary thing on the highest point of the roof – that is really cool), and of course the cringe-worthy neon against the solid black backdrop is just so intense it can be bothersome to the eyes – and your sense of taste. But in all seriousness, if you are even remotely epileptic, this is not a place you want to spend too much time in. Heck, even if you aren’t, there’s a distinct likelihood you’ll have a seizure anyways. At least you now have someplace to put all the cheap neon stuff you have in your furniture inventory. Here, it would feel right at home.

So all in all, the Club Luminosity space is so awful that even if Konami fixed a few of the problems of this space, it would only put it up to the grade of “almost tolerable”.

  • The space is $5.99
  • Pretty good size
  • Fits Konami's Raver collection like a glove
  • A lot of seating (I counted 32)
  • Can be deemed loud if not ready for it
  • No bundle pack for the furniture (each of the 12 pieces is $0.99)
  • Bright lights & decor against black backdrop can be bothersome to the eyes
  • Music can not be muted so no using the LOOT EOD radio
  • Et cetera, Et cetera, Et cetera

LMFBOOOOO~!!!! The reaction to the second floor is beyond CRAZY!! XD

GAWD this article the best that you’ve pumped out, KLC. 8D

What is interesting is when you contrast this article with the Top 20 article, you realize that the taste of people in Home is pretty odd. I would have thought that Hellfire’s LMO would sell better than a Neon Plant. I guess not.

    A truly fun read. Thanks!

Well honestly I’m ok with the neon items, put them in that old space that gave us the free zombie outfits and they would look pretty cool maybe.
