The Venue

The Venue by Lockwood is among the largest in Home, and one of the best layouts in the Home estates. It has so many bells and whistles, I don’t know where to begin.

Let’s start with the developer of the space, Lockwood Publishing. Their specialty is socialized gaming; this includes virtual worlds and the creation of virtual goods. Lockwood has created some stunning spaces, the Dream Universe Spaces, the Sodium Spaces and goods for Home users. Some of these items they created, received complete applause, some to halfhearted applause – which, I might add, was quickly turned to complete applause once the kinks were ironed out. Not to mention the several lines of clothing available from them, from Figment to Drey and Fool Throttle. Lockwood continues to bring that diverse excitement.

Sutton_AboutTheir new offering I believe will do just the same. The Venue will appeal to a wide range of Home users, for a wide range of reasons. First, it is another way to entertain. Home is a place where entertainment and socializing is the goal of the platform, to forge new and lasting friendships. There are lounges aplenty here in Home, but the best for some people are the private spaces . With the Venue, Lockwood has taken the idea of Scorpios bar, the Silicone lounge, the Sunset Lounge and some of the most asked for customization options, and given them a Lockwood touch.

The Venue is a convention center, nightclub, and fashion venue, with customizations. You name a social function and it can be created here.

The Venue has some of the coolest interactions available.  Now, I’m not a drinker, but my avatar has been known to have a nip or two at Scorpios. In the Venue the third person view of my avatar downing a drink was a laugh.

If you want to play bartender and listen to your customers woes then by all means, step around to the backside of the bar and go for it. Here your avatar can pour a drink for the customer with the interaction icon. There are more interactions included in this spacious personal space, such as the ability to lean over the railing on the top floor and view the action below, or the mirror game and the voting game, this I’m sure will be a hit with the many fashion houses in Home.

The most exciting thing about this space will no doubt be the customizations Lockwood has so generously added to this space. The possibilities are limited only by the fact that they couldn’t get anymore in to the space due to innovation limits at this time. Every room in this space can be customized: floors, walls, ceilings, even the doorway in the lobby is customizable, down to the baseboard. The stairwell leading up is customizable. In the barroom, the bar front, the backsplash behind the bar are customizable.

In the VIP lounge the light shade is added to the possible changes you can choose. The runway has themes and music, 9 songs, logos and a stage for the vote game that can be changed. There is a save option after every change in the space, this I am sure will be used. The amounts of customization’s are so many, this place is sure to be one of the new jewels in Lockwood’s crown.

Personal space owners will possibly never see the same décor in another owners space, making them feel that one of a kind pride, we tend to get when we show off our creations. If that part of the space wasn’t enough to make you love Lockwood, they have included your very own Lockwood store, Lockwood access from your own venue.

I have so enjoyed my time in this space. I saw only one drawback to this personal space, for me.  I have voiced this before, these customization’s would be over the top in a personal space that had the apartment/ house design to it. The Harbor has the wallpaper change, but can you imagine the flooring as well? Granzella took the steps towards the lead in the race,  giving us The City of Flowers space.

Lockwood has made it to the finish line with this space. I only wish it were a smaller, homey feeling space where I could have these features. I might have that thought, but some others may feel the fact that this is a personal space that only allows for eleven guests at a time.  If this was a club space with all the bells and whistles it has – well, you know what I’m thinking.

Well done Lockwood!

I love the space, but I want it as a club skin, not a personal space. It is very large and though I like it, I think it is better suited to being a club, especially because of the functions it offers. If they make it a club skins I think the people will respond, especially fashion clubs.
