The Top Ten SCEA Home Value Items for May

Like beauty, value is in the eye of the beholder. In other words, what one person sees as value, another person may not. Value, as I understand it, is a cost-to-worth relationship, and I can only tell you what I perceive as having worth in Home purchases. Following are the items that I consider are the best value for the month and I’ll tell you why I think so, for each item or package. This isn’t a list of my favorite things for the month; some of them I didn’t purchase and won’t for various reasons. Some things I bought aren’t on this list. They’re not always the least expensive item(s), either.
By the way, I’m not including free items, as their worth is more than obvious.
Although these items are numbered, it’s not meant to be a top value to least value list, but rather my value choices for the month overall. I also didn’t try to choose one of each type of item, such as estate, locomotion, furniture pack, clothing item, etc. If I had this would have been a somewhat different list.
1. Granzella’s Cheerleading Outfit for $2.49.
This outfit for the ladies comes in three color choices (red and white, pink and white, and blue and white) and has ten pieces, which includes a different hairstyle with each color choice, two tops, two bottoms, two full torso sets of these items, boots and sneakers with leg warmers. It also comes with a locomotion item of cheerleading pompoms. These pompoms set your avatar to cheering when equipped and you have a choice of three cheering styles for your avatar to perform. Although the outfits are only sold for the ladies, guys can pick them up and use the pompoms, too, as they are equipped under the Personal>Inventory menu.
2. VEEMEE’s My Bedroom Bundle for $7.49.
I’ve been waiting for all four bedroom sets to be offered for sale before recommending these beautiful bundles. We love choices, especially color choices, don’t we? This set not only offers four matching color choices of black marble, birch wood, teak wood and burgundy, but has twelve pieces for this low price. That’s less than $.63 a piece for items such as a bed, double wardrobe, vanity table and large mirror. With this many pieces, you can fill up a large bedroom or use fewer pieces to fill up a smaller bedroom.
3. Granzella’s Beach Sandals ten-color Set for $1.99.
If you like to spend time at or in the pools, jacuzzi’s, and beaches of Home, you probably have several (or many!) swim suits. As the proper footwear in these places – when you’re not barefoot – is sandals, you may have had trouble finding attractive sandals with colors matching your suits. This package offered for males and females is the solution to that little problem and at a great little price. The color choices range from the basic, such as black or white, to the more interesting, such as aqua blue and lime green.
4. Atom Republic’s Traditional Dances for $3.99.
The average cost of dances that are offered in packs (as most are) is about $1.00 per dance (per gender) and they’re very worth it in most cases, for their entertainment value. This pack offers six unique dances for just under $4.00 and it includes male and female dances, so there is great value if you use avatars of both genders. There is line dancing for males and females, three other dances for females, and two other dances for males. The other female dances are belly dancing, an Indian dance, and the Hawaiian hula, while the guys have the energetic Cossack jumpstyle and Capoeira dances.
5. Codeglue’s A Touch of Spring Floral Outfits by U Love Green for $3.99.
The outfits in these packs are stylish, fit well, offer great color choices and of course, have great value. There are three of these bundles offered and they include two dresses and two pairs of matching sandals in each. Choose between black and raspberry; mauve and pink; and white and purple sets. The dresses are offered individually for $1.99 and the sandals for $.99 each, so these packs are quite a savings. Ladies, don’t overlook these bundles if you’re looking for stylish and colorful spring clothes.
6. JAM Games’ Razor Line Bundles for $2.49 and $2.99.
Again, we are offered great styles with a good fit and color choices and that’s wonderful. The four male bundles and one of the female bundles are offered at $2.49 for three pieces. The male packs include a unique themed hairstyle, sleeveless tops and jeans with colorful animated designs. The one female pack offered at this price has fingerless gloves, a top and jeans. The other three female bundles are offered at $2.99 and have four pieces. In addition to the fingerless gloves, tops and jeans, wedge boots are included in these packs. All the items in the bundles are offered separately and there are other individual items, such as trail boots for the guys to choose from. These packs and separate items are perfect choices for new casual clothes with flair.
7. nDreams’ Apartment Pets Volume 1 Bundle for $4.99.
With nDreams calling this “Volume 1” we can expect more bundles and you may want to wait for a full selection. Without knowing how many volumes are going to be offered, I’m recommending this pack now. The bundle includes three companions (sold for $2.99 individually) and three active items (sold for $1.99 separately) for your personal spaces. That’s an incredible savings. The companions in this volume are the highly unusual Benji and Nipper and the adorable Li’l Ninja. The active items make your space “come to life with these fantastic free-roaming pets” per nDreams. There are also packs for $2.49 that have one companion and matching apartment appliance if you just want just your favorite.
8. nDreams’ BoxBeats Mini Bundle for $6.99.
As these minis take up less space than the larger models, they are perfect for your smaller estates or to place in corners or on some shelves to take up less room anywhere. Each one is an attractive and individually styled addition to your spaces and they have some great tunes, also. You can set the volume, pick specific tracks or set them to randomize. There are five of these items (sold at $2.99 each) included in the pack with over ten tracks in each Box Beat. The music in each has a theme; two are rock tunes, two are dance tunes and one is simply called “relax” tunes.
9. Game Mechanics’ Elegant Dining Table Bundle for $6.99.
If you like to decorate your estates and don’t have the four person dining set sold for $2.99 from Game Mechanics, I can’t imagine why. But, this is your opportunity to pick it up with the eight-person and twelve-person tables also, so you’ll have a suitable table for any sized dining room in your estates. The small and medium sized tables take up only six furniture slots and the large table takes up only seven and they are sold separately for $3.49 and $3.99, respectively. These tables also have two unique and awesome features. One feature is that you can seat your avatar close to the table, in a very natural way. This wasn’t available previously when chairs and tables were set out separately and you needed to leave a lot of space between them for your avatar. Another feature is that you can change the number of place settings and the color of the table cloths and matching vases. Simply incredible.
10. VEEMEE’s Mythical Creature Avatars Bundle for $6.49.
There have been other full body outfits that change our avatars appearance completely, but this set is unique in style. As far as I’m aware, this is the first time you are able to turn your avatar into a four-legged creature, and with the dragon and griffin, you are also able to fly. They are well designed and colored, especially the lovely lavender unicorn. The set also includes a Cerberus, a three-headed hell hound. All four of the creatures are sold separately for $2.99 each, which makes the bundle a nice savings if you want all four.
There were several packs or items that I wanted to include, but had to leave out of the list. One of these bundles was the LOOT’s Men in Black (MIB) Vehicle Bundle for $9.99. If you’re a MIB fan, you don’t want to miss this bundle of cool, fun and funny LMO items. The pack includes a jetpack, flying bike, Boris bike, monocycle and flying platform. These items are sold separately and would total $14.95 if purchased that way. Also, Game Mechanics three items that can be personalized shouldn’t be missed. Choose between a doormat floor item, a free-standing sign, and a “white board” wall item for $1.99 each or pick up all three. Then write up your own message(s) from “Welcome” to “House Rules” and everything in between.
The month of May had five Wednesdays this year, which made it even harder to pick out only ten value items. This is a very good problem to have, as it only further supports the belief that Home has a pretty solid future ahead of it for some time to come.

Home is endlessly entertaining to this California girl. Kassadee has been in Home for about four years, and loves almost everything about it (with a few notable exceptions). She spends way too much money there, and perhaps too much time... Someday she will travel the world and write about the people she meets and the places she sees.
