The Top Ten SCEA Home Value Items for June
by Kassadee Marie, HSM team writer
Like beauty, value is in the eye of the beholder. In other words, what one person sees as value, another person may not. Value, as I understand it, is a cost-to-worth relationship and I can only tell you what I perceive as having worth in Home purchases. Following are the items that I consider are the best value for the month and I’ll tell you why I think so, for each item or package.
This isn’t a list of my favorite things for the month; some of them I didn’t purchase and won’t for various reasons. Some things I bought aren’t on this list. They’re not always the least expensive item(s), either. By the way, I’m not including free items as their worth is more than obvious. Although these items are numbered, it’s not meant to be a top value to least value list, but rather my value choices for the month overall. I also didn’t try to choose one of each type of item, such as estate, locomotion, furniture pack, clothing item, etc. If I had this would have been a somewhat different list.
1. LOOT’s Hollywood Hills House Ultimate Bundle for $14.99. Individually these two personal spaces and two clubs are sold for $9.99 each. In addition to the price of this bundle being less than half of the price of all four versions purchased separately, the bundle includes EOD TV on a 140′ flat screen TV; LOOT RadioIO, which can be heard throughout the space; a new swimming emote in the pool; a separate air swimming animation; eight pieces of furniture, including a chair and couch, which can be found in the LOOT store for free; six active items, including the LOOT camera, and a game. It also has a beautiful city view in the daytime or the nighttime version and the television and radio make this the perfect club setting. Not bad at all, for just under $15.00.
2. Game Mechanics’ A Day at the Races for $2.49. Games add a lot to our spaces and clubs and it’s great to be able to have entertainment for guests or club members. This innovative game from one of our newer Home developers has great features including free daily tokens for owners and guests; fun game play; and cool rewards for owners and guests. There are eight guests rewards and an additional two exclusive rewards for the game owners. It’s interesting to look at as a furniture item or during a race, watching the five miniature jockeys competing for the win and it takes up only fourteen furniture slots. Up to twelve people can play at the same time and they can all bet on whichever two horses they choose. Don’t worry if you run out of tokens to bet, because you can purchase more.
3. nDreams’ Ultimate Dance Bundle 3 for $7.99. It’s impossible not to keep recommending dance bundles because they are so much fun and the dances seem to be getting better and better. Once again nDreams has used motion-capture technology to make some of the smoothest dances on Home. This bundle includes five three-dance packs, including the “Attitude, Sexy, UK, Kung Fu, and Capoeira” packs. As long as you’re still dancing on Home, I highly recommend this bundle to you. By the way, the last two of these packs include some very energetic dances, so be sure your avatar has lots of dancing room.
4. VEEMEE’s Timepieces – Clocks Bundle for $4.99. If you love to buy estates and decorate your spaces in a realistic manner you’ll love this five item bundle. Each clock is sold separately and would cost $8.45 if purchased that way. In addition to an alarm clock for your nightstand, there is also a Traditional Grandfather clock for your stately manors; a Contemporary Grandfather clock for your modern spaces; an Art Deco Table clock for that unique style; and a Modern Brass Plate Wall clock, which would look great in an office.
5. Lockwood’s Venue Ultimate Value Pack for $8.99. Wow, this personal spaces has, does and offers a whole lot! Here you have unique animations such as bar tending, your own Lockwood store and gift machine built-in, music with nine different songs, a voting mini-game, and in depth customization changing from a runway, to a dance floor or stage. In addition, there are customizable floors, walls and ceilings, separately in each room. Even some of the lights are changeable and there’s still more. The space is sold separately for $6.99, so with six $1.99 customization packs included, the bundle is quite a bargain.
6. LOOT’s Forsaken Planet LMO Bundle for $3.99. At this price for six unique locomotions, LOOT is practically giving this pack away; purchased separately these locomotions would cost $9.44. If you like the unusual, you’ll love these locomotions. With one of them is activated you can ride a cow or camel with some very funny avatar animations; ride on a sleigh pulled by a raccoon; be abducted by one of two aliens; or be pulled along the ground by a zombie. All these items are drawn in the cartoon style of LOOT’s Forsaken Planet game, which adds to the fun and humor.
7. Hellfire’s Seahorse Aqua Mounts for $2.99. Although these locomotion items are sold at what could be considered a rather standard locomotion item price they are really unusual and very diverting; their value is not only in their concept and design, but it their beautiful colors. They are offered in citrine, twilight (dark purple-y blue), scarlet and aquamarine (of course!). You’ll love the way you’re seated on your mount and after all, who wouldn’t want to ride a seahorse? Now if we only had an underwater space where we could use all our wonderful underwater items… (hint, hint).
8. American Independence Pack and Canadian Celebration Pack for $1.99. Don’t overlook these patriotic packs if you like to decorate for the holidays. These two little bundles offer great items to help you celebrate Independence Day or Canada Day on Home. The American pack has three items, a fun red, white and blue cake; the Liberty Bell as a furniture item; and a Declaration of Independence and American flags wall item. The Canadian pack has four items, a red and white maple leaf cake; a stack of pancakes with a bottle of maple syrup; a wall item which is shaped like a maple leaf and made from smaller maple leaves; and a serving of poutine, which (for those who don’t know) is french fries topped with brown gravy and cheese curds. And Wikipedia says, “Poutine may also contain other ingredients such as bacon, beef, pulled pork, lamb, lobster meat, shrimp, rabbit confit, caviar and truffles.” Sounds yummy.
9. Lockwood’s Icelandic Animals Pack for $3.99. Although these companions are sold separately, I strong recommend that you purchase the three-pack of a reindeer, fox and puffin. As with their previous endangered animals pack, Lockwood is giving $1.00 of your purchase price for this bundle to a worthy cause. In this case you will be helping to support the Icelandic Environment Association (Landvernd) which exists to protect wild animal habitats and natural landscapes.
10. Bald Eagle Companion for $1.99. Not only is this a very good price for a companion, it’s very fitting for this time of the year, with Independence Day arriving soon, as it’s our national bird. And this item is an original from Sony, from whom we don’t see as many products as we used to. There’s also value in supporting Sony buy purchasing their items to show support for their products on Home.
Honorable Mentions – Fashions
The third and fourth weeks of June were a fashion fest and I was happy to see it, as new clothes have been rare items lately, except for casual clothes from Wrangler. These week’s fashions seemed to be as much about color as they were about style. Some of the developers brought out clothes in shades and tones that I haven’t seen on Home before.
Be sure to check out Codeglue’s offering of the beautiful and feminine U Love Green “Express Your Color” line for the ladies; Jam Games’ stylish and sophisticated “Occasions Collection” for males and females; Konami’s not-for-the-shy Raver line for females; Digital Leisure’s exciting and sizzling “Evening Gown” for the ladies and Granzella’s goth-inspired “Delinquent Fashion Set” for males and females.
Codeglue’s packs are $3.49 for four items, offered in six colors. Jam Games’ packs are $3.49 for both males and females. The male bundle has four items, offered in six colors and the female bundle has five items, offered in three colors. Konami sells their Gogo items individually for $.99 each and they are offered in ten new colors. Digital Leisure’s gowns are $1.99, offered in three colors and Granzella’s bundles are $2.49 for six pieces for the guys and eight pieces, including two full-torso items, for the ladies. They are offered in white and red or black and purple plaids for either gender.
Have fun shopping and remember – you are supporting Home with your purchases.

I agree we had an amazing fashion explosion these past two weeks! I was especially stoked for the ‘delinquent fashion bundles’ as they are very reminiscent of Japanese punk styles. It’s great to see Home pushing the envelope with a more international-centric product line rather than staying with strict regional lines.
