DCUO: Friday Night Legends

By Jin Lovelace, team writer and HSM filmmaker

This is a great year to be on DC Universe Online. With DLC 7 released, featuring a new Quantum power base for your character to expand upon, and several new missions for leveling up, logging into DCUO has become an even greater joy.

Recently, the DCUO community team has come together to create new episodes of Friday Night Legends, which airs on the official DC Universe Online channel on Twitch TV. The show’s premise is to gather the DCUO gamers who dwell in the MMO world and bring them together to feature gameplay from other League groups (the game’s version of the Clan system) on the server and throw some goodies, announcements, or teasers to the viewers.

MHQS102_DESIGNERDATA-PC-07-2004440I’ve been watching these guys since Episode 1. (We’re now up to Episode 10.) And I think this is a great way to reach out to the community and get involved with some of the active Leagues that have been loyal to the game since day one. It’s nice to see something like this to happen these days in games. There’s little to no community interaction in any other game I play. If anything, this is a good way to draw in new customers and bring back some of the older players that took some time off from playing.

Episode 10 features a new theme for the show, where Spytle and Mepps challenge a League known as the “Fanboys”, as they take on some hard tasks and their Leader is warped into something I haven’t seen ever in a video game, which may possibly be a “legendary” event. Trust me, this is fun stuff and something you don’t want to miss.

You can catch FNL live on the DC Universe Online Twitch TV channel every Friday at 4pm PST (7pm EST) at http://www.twitch.tv/dcuniverseonline. And of course you can catch up on old episodes on the video list for their official channel page.

Of course, I hope you enjoy.
