Granzella Rethinks Locomotions

by Burbie52, HSM team writer

Picnics are fun.

Most of us probably have memories of doing this with family members. Each year for many years as I was growing up, we had a family picnic gathering at my aunt’s home on the lake. My mom was one of thirteen children, so you can imagine the size of this enterprise. It was always a pot luck affair with over a hundred people attending and an event that all of us looked forward to each year.

Locomotion items are becoming big business in Home. Ever since the developers were given the option to give us new ways to move within Home’s construct, we have been inundated with everything from bicycles to tanks and dragons to dolphins; from wild crazy dances to the more regular dances of older times.

When Granzella came into Home this week with their new content they showed up with an entirely new concept in locomotion. They have brought us a new picnic blanket. Now I know we have had several of these given us in the past, I myself own a few, but this one is unique in that you can bring it out in any public venue because it is a locomotion, not an ornament.

You can sit on this locomotion with a friend.

This is a complete turn around from anything else we have seen in Home locomotion. This new idea opens up an entire new world of possibilities for us, new abilities we can use in public spaces we have never thought possible.

Let’s look at the product we have first, and then try and come up with new ideas. The picnic blanket has two different patterns, a striped called Horizontal Stripes and a flowered one called Camellia. The blanket base comes with six different options of types of food for your pleasure. There is a plain blanket, one with Japanese sweets, a  Lovey-Dovey Wife Bento lunch for two, snacks, another with stacked food boxes that house a banquet fit for kings, and last but not least a full Chinese banquet replete with roasted duck and a variety of side dishes. All of these come for the astounding price of $1.99 for the entire lot. This makes this item one of the best bargains in Home by far. Where else will you find six locomotion items for that price?

Not only do you get all of these choices but you also get four different poses included that you can use while the blanket is out. You can sit in three different poses and one is a laying down on your side. I am quite impressed they have come up with this new option for us.

What could the future hold for this new idea? I think the possibilities are only limited by our imaginations. I could see a lot of things coming out of this new concept. How about a chair that you can bring anywhere you go? There could be several different kinds, from lawn chairs to a full sized lounger. It would be really cool to have it animated like the blankets are so that when we get it out we sit back immediately or perhaps in the case of the lounge chair it would pop into a laid back position. You could bring it to your friend’s house and have a seat wherever you stop, maybe even a chair with a fishing animation so you could cast out into any water in Home.

The sky is the limit here. It is great to see Granzella coming up with something new and different in the locomotion world of Home.

I love this idea! After I saw my friend with one in action my brain took off with what else I’d like to see, and I’ve already suggested a small swimming pool/ Jacuzzi’s where your avatar becomes half submerged while it’s active or crazy stuff like ACME black holes you can slap anywhere ala’ Warner Bros Cartoon style. But I like the chair idea too, you could have beanbags to throw about! Personally, and this is just my quirkyness (and probably wouldn’t sell) I’d get so much fun out of a Hobo-house, AKA an old fridge box -- that you can sleep in of course!

Can’t wait to see where this goes…

I want a lawn chair suspended by a bunch of helium balloons.

The picnic sets are really great, and the different food choices make them suitable for various circumstances. On a date? Pull out the bento-box! Want to celebrate New Years in Japanese style? Look no further than the stacked box version, stocked with traditional Japanese foods served for Oshogatsu!

I really these.Sometimes you think that they have thought of it all, then something cool like this comes out. Great review and thanks for sharing your bento box with me!
