Exit Racing: A JAM Game Mechanics Joint
By Jin Lovelace; team writer, videographer, and fashionist
Over the course of Home releases I’ve been keeping my eye on two developers whom I quickly grew a fond of. Two of these developers brought to us a genre that held little to no interests to my aesthetics whatsoever. However, who’s to say there isn’t any creativity to explore?
To my admittance, I do have a slight fond for the racing genre, especially for games such as Gran Turismo 5 and the Ridge Racer series (being R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 being my all-time favorite racing game). I guess it’s mainly due to how instead of you watching the automotive behemoths making a left turn for a good 30-40 minutes, you’re actually in the action. You’re feeling the excitement of what the actual driver behind the wheel feels.
So with this in mind, I felt that two great developers should be spotlighted on some of their respective brands on Home that maybe overlooked: the RaceOn fashion and Contender furniture commodities. My reasoning for doing this is pretty straight forward: because I love both of these developers.
JAM Games is quite lauded for their sense of imagination with their quirky costumes to their elegant, accentuating fashions that bares no issues in regards to being risque but keeping in the means of mature and classy. And believe me, the work shows.
Game Mechanics, on the other hand, built a name for creating such exquisite furniture items which conveys more to whatever mood or setting to your heart’s desiring. In terms of accuracy here, their Contender line is the finest example in my estimation. I wanted to create an enriching setting for the RaceOn commodity and such inspiration persists when I saw the Contender’s Race Cars available. The results were me having so much fun decorating to create a showcase of GM’s items with JAM’s RaceOn gear. If you were to ever visit my mansion garage personal space, it feels like you’re on a set of Top Gear.
So much, I felt that Deadmau5’s music piece “Where Are my Keys?” really fit the motif behind this project. I think the two really marries so well and it was something I couldn’t pass up. The said music piece gave enough synergy to get the audience in-tune with the showcase, along with some of my editing bits.
My thanks goes to the TT Models–especially to the newest recruit Ms. Jlizbeth beth. For some added spice, I’ve thrown in the Biker Suits from Granzella. It is to note that the suits–for $2.49–is worthy of a purchase. You get four suit types of any chosen color (Red, White, or Black), a ponytail accessory piece, and two helmet item types, complete with gloves
