nDreams’ New Groove

by KLCgame, HSM team writer

nDreams has released plenty of things over the years.

But this week they went big; their release of the nDreams Animation & Gesture Pack literally had me cheering and genuinely excited. Now what makes this really stand out to me with this pack versus the other packs released by other developers is the sheer number of items, it is nothing short of incredible. Here’s the rundown of every mini pack and item (including prices) nDreams is releasing this week,

Now sure, it is a lot of items and I know what a few of you out there are thinking, “Lovely, a huge pack with sub-par quality, like I really need another one of those.” Well do not worry about that either – nDreams has you covered.

They did high quality motion capture for every item in this pack, in their own words: nDreams took a trip to the world-famous Pinewood Studios and recorded some new dances and gestures for Home in one of their state of the art motion capture suites. The quality of all the moves is better than anything else in Home right now. With four dance packs and four gesture packs there are plenty of new ways to show off in Home.

The emotes in these packs are another set of wishlist items people have been wanting for easily two or three years now. It still amazes me how many of the things the community has wished for, requested, or thought was just simply not possible, are now a reality. I remember a time on PlayStation Home when wanting to be able to display some of your personal pictures in your personal space was just “crazy talk.”

Well now, here we are in PlayStation Home 2013, where you can fly, drive and swim. It is amazing how much PlayStation Home has truly evolved. Simply look at these animations of nDreams for example. They used full motion capture – typically reserved for big name video games and movies. it really shows that Home is truly getting the recognition that it deserves.

Cue the happy dance! (via Tumblr)

I have seen some of the emotes in action now and I must say nDreams has definitely answered the prayers of a lot of PlayStation Home machinima artists. However, they aren’t the only ones. Don’t get me wrong, these emotes are for everyone, and even if you are just hanging out with some friends, take any of the emotes out and it will either get the party started or at least get them talking.

So has nDreams now opened the virtual floodgates on new emotes on PlayStation Home? I really hope so. Until then I will be enjoying even more “people watching” in The Hub and seeing how nDreams’ imagination combines with just random Home users actions to see where these emotes go.

    Glad you enjoy them KLC!

It wouldn’t surprise me if you saw more animations from us over the course of the next 6 months, so keep an eye out ;-)

Well that’s good to hear and send the team my best.

LOVE the animations. Bought the bundle.

REALLY wish, though, we could load more than one pack at a time from our inventory OR at least not be so obvious when switching between them by having the avi stop and go into Inventory.

    • Susan says:

How about animations that allow us to play instruments? If only I had some KISS avatars and a couple guitars and a set of drums in which we would actually play. The musicality space has something like that but it is so limited.

  2. Olivia_Allin says:

Next we need the “secret signal” from Team America. I love these new move and can buy them fast enough!
