Billabong 2013 Vol. 2

by Jin Lovelace, HSM team writer and videographer

February saw Billabong making their return to the virtual world with an introduction of their swim wear and two new dresses for the ladies. Though the offerings were rather small that time around, their reappearance in Home (hosted by VEEMEE, of course) was lauded.

This past week, the fashion line has added a touch of color to the stellar designs already on the rack. The women’s wear is joined by another color set for the Allison and Kellie bikinis, while one of my new favorite dresses, Away We Go, now comes in a white variant called “Cool Wip”.

While I’m enamored with this release, the new Sandals, Miramar — Black, didn’t at all appeal to my aesthetics. For something of this designer’s caliber, the item looks like one of the first-gen commodities that were released in 2008 under Threads. It’s bad enough that I wear a size 18 shoe (yes, I have big feet), but it’s worse when I see them appear fat on my avatar, which looks undesirable.

But the overall release is rather astonishing. The Kellie “Periwinkle” bikini bundle actually appealed to me due to the color pattern and how it didn’t come off as appearing generic.

In this short feature, I wanted to create a nice summer feel to add appeal to the Allison bundle and the Away We Go dress, and to draw upon the simplicity motif with the hues from the Tropical Beach space, where the lighting is remarkable with the Cool Wip color. It’s something you have to see for yourself.

You can check out my upcoming article at the Twilight Touch site. Of course, I hope you enjoy.
