The City of Flowers: Window to the World

 by Phoenix, HSM team writer

Granzella’s new personal space is a Parisian dream. The sprawling apartment overlooks a busy Paris city street, with a view of the Eiffel tower far off in the distance. The apartment has crown molding and chandeliers in it’s spacious rooms. The feel of the place is old world elegance with its features, including wainscoting.

It’s a huge space, too, with six rooms, with a proper dining room, living room, kitchen and bathroom with jacuzzi.

But what is most impressive about the City of Flowers Penthouse is the level of customization that is baked into the space. Along with working light switches that allow you to adjust the lighting, you will have the ability to change the wallpaper in your apartment. And that’s just the beginning.

The ability to change the color of a personal space’s walls is something many have been asking for a long time. It is this level of customization that is one of the things that made the Harbor Studio apartment unique. Granzella is the first developer to finally add this long asked for option to a new space. This is sure to have an impact on how well this particular item sells.

PlayStation(R)Home Picture 06-02-2013 08-51-52This apartment will have several accessories for purchase. There are also two different yet complimentary furniture bundles that will be available. The Luxurious Set is a three-piece set, containing a sofa, a chair and a single sofa table. The other sets contains kitchen items, which consist of kitchen cabinetry (a three-piece set), as well as kitchen essentials, like pots and pans. This will be a four-piece set. There will also be appliances, such as lighting and a washer-dryer set.

This new apartment will also have curtains (not yet in the store) that can be used at the generous ceiling to floor windows that make up one wall on the balcony. These curtains have the ability to be opened and closed. There are a choice of carpets (also not in the store) to be used in the apartment. There are three color choices for the carpets and curtains.

There are more ways owners of the City of Flowers Apartment can turn the space into something truly personal and unique. They will have the ability to select the background music for this space, as well as day or night for the right atmosphere  for entertaining, or personal enjoyment.

Oh, and prospective owners of this space will find it comes with a small price tag, compared to some of the newer spaces. Pricing in at $3.49 it is a bargain for size and amenities.

There is one little thing, you will find a secret in the space. That you will have to find out for yourself, however. You’ll find no spoilers here.

There is a virtual shower, complete with steam and running water. Upon entering, your avatar’s clothing will be removed, but don’t worry, your avatar will be wearing a towel to keep your modesty in the spacious bathroom. There is a washroom with sink and space for a toilet (sold separately) and a jacuzzi tub with at least four jets. A three piece dressing gown /robe can be purchased for your bathing modesty as well.

Granzella has been very well received by the community ever since its debut, and is one of the developers in Home who seem to be consistently pushing the limits as to what is possible in Home. However, they have also been one of the more pricier developers to buy from, which if anyone were to find fault with them, that would be it. The bargain basement price tag for such an amazing space as the City of Flowers Apartment will no doubt make it an irresistible buy, as it could certainly command a much higher price.

Will this strategy work in their favor? In exchange for this pricing strategy, will Granzella experience above average sales? Only time will tell. One thing is for certain, though. It looks like Granzella might have another winner here.

I noticed the price on this space yesterday and my honest reaction was that it was an accident. Is this really the real price then? I mean, really? Really really!?

The functionality of this place sounds great, I hope more devs are watching. Personally, this place isn’t for me, grand designs I’m fine with but when it comes to that old-world feel with noisey wallpaper, over detailed beadding, dado rails and celings that look like they were crafted by Michel Angelo on acid I find myself repulsed by the busyness of it all. Makes me think of Buckingham Palace; fine on the outside, crazy bat-barf on the inside.

I bought the space and it is wonderful . The carpet and drapes are available in the store under the furniture tab in Luxury. They add a great deal to the functions there.
    Nice article phoenix.

    Thanks Burbie,
I didn’t see them there when I went in search of them. Hope others have found them.

  4. I like this place somewhat but am far from overwhelmed. I rated it as Satisfied on the PS3 Home forum.
What I do love very much about it is the running water shower!!! That is great!!!
The way the toilets go in mess things up as far as putting in other furniture. Sure, it’s fun that if you put the two toilets in the proper space that they are workable. Nah, they don’t flush. Maybe in a further update, ROFL.
And I like the curtains sort of. They could have been baked in like Digital Leisure’s cheap hotel room though. Had they done that and with the toilets too, instead of selling the curtains and toilets separately the unit price would have been higher the way I figure it.
The day night music option is nice. It reminds me of Granzella’s Diner which is one of my favorites.
    My clothes don’t get removed unless I choose to remove them, so there. :;
It’s a nice space far removed from the Paris clock tower which is great.
    And I like the article.

Yes I agree with you kid -the toilets do cramp the space which does not allow you to put certain necessary furniture pieces (like toilet paper) in the bathroom. (If they are not going to let us put toilet paper next to the toilet they could at least off up a bidet- it being France and all- the could even make it have real running water like the shower) -but I love old world design… It has a certain charm -I live industrial modern -so it’s good to have a way to step out of it in virtual reality. The choices available in this space are simply fantstique- (kisses fingertips) from a designing point of view- the new frames are a really big Wow- I like it. I don’t like that there is no island in the kitchen set. I don’t like any kitchen sets because they all miss the concept of a dream kitchen without the idea of an island. But I do love this space down to the choices it gives you for Background Music (BGM)… Good job Granzilla! :)

When will the complementary furniture bundles, carpet & curtain & toilet options be available? I would like to decorate my living space that no longer costs $3.49 as stated here, but $7.99 that I just paid for it with NO furnishings…

    • Phoenix says:

Sweetie, that price $3.49 was for the month in which this space debuted, only. As for the bundles check the shopping bag icon in your space. This is where you can find the bundles and other items. You can also go to Granzella’s store.

      Thanks and good luck.

I like many others dont even see the toilet carpet or curtain option
to buy. Where are they? Ive gone outside to the commerce point to luxury furniture and its not there. Some are reporting it is there. Is it regional? Thanks

    • Phoenix says:

As I recall, I believe the carpet for the toilet is with the toilet purchase. If you have purchased the toilet check you wall control for the rug option.
      :)
