Lockwood’s Dream Hideaway
by Burbie52, HSM team writer
This coming week, Lockwood is once again adding an apartment to their Gift Machine, and this looks to be the best one yet. This apartment has been hinted at for quite a while – since the beginning of the year – and many people have been looking forward to its arrival. The fact that it is going to be a gift item is a surprise move by Lockwood. It wasn’t mentioned before the release, and with the build-up of anticipation, it’s going to be interesting to see how people react to not being able to just purchase it outright.
The apartment is amazing in its design; a modern space with fourteen hidden rewards built into it. It has two floors and an open area that stretches out over a moonlit lagoon. The outside terrain look like a forest retreat, but though the hut-like structure out over the water looks to be tropical, the wooded area surrounding it doesn’t – an interesting touch.
The interior of the first floor has a built in kitchen and large rooms that could serve for living space or whatever you might desire. There also looks to be several pieces of built in shelving, which I hope are usable, and a nice little central fireplace. There may be some furniture that will be released as well, though whether it is separate and available in the store or only in the gift machine is not yet shown.
There’s a lot of built-in lighting, but no indication whether it will be adjustable or not. I would like it to be – as we’ve seen how well received such accents are – as you can set many moods with just that one small addition. Many times the lamps we own become obsolete because the lights are too bright for them to serve any function at all.
A large tree surrounded by built-in seating dominates the patio area, and there appears to be a lot of built in fauna, as well as a nice swimming pool which presumably allows you to swim in it, like Dream Island does. I wonder if the water will do the same? The lighting that has been placed there tends to make me believe it will.
A large sweeping staircase leads from the living space up towards the back of the house. I wonder if it connects to the upper floor or another hidden area behind the house? This video is great but it leaves enough out of it to make you inquisitive, perhaps enough so that you will purchase the space for a friend. This gifting idea is going to be interesting to follow, as those who don’t own more than one account may have to create one just to send the apartment to themselves to obtain it, or exchange with a friend.
The sounds are probably well done, I know this because of the way they have handled their previous estates, I would think there would be crickets and night birds as well as the lapping of the waves as they hit the shores. Lockwood is creating a whole “Dream” universe with the spaces they are coming up with. It will be very interesting to see where they take us next, as the entries they have so far have been wonderful additions to the over-saturated personal space market. The price isn’t shown, but I will assume it will be the same as the last one, the Arctic Yacht, at 768 tokens. So for around $9.00 you can own another piece of Lockwood’s incredible universe.
While others have been adding new functions to their spaces to revive a flagging market, Lockwood has always been at the forefront of elegant design and this new space will only add to that legacy.

Now I remember it! Yeah, been waiting on this one for a bit now myself. Loving the look of this place, I like when modern architecture fits into nature. Some of the bubble furniture here reminds me of the Jetsons lol, and no, that’s not a bad thing!
My main worry about this place is the one I seem to have with all of LKWD’s new spaces; size. I’m glad we have double our item slots now but even that’s not enough to make LKWDs spaces look properly lived-in, IMO. The Dream Island is such a nice place but I rarely visit it because I’m still not happy with the lay-out, it just seems too empty still. I’m going to TRY and not get this as soon as it becomes available…
Yes I agree with this -- they need to make furniture items to scale and explore what Jam and nDreams have tapped into with some of their items- the blueprint deck sets and the Jam tables are good ideas for gettin sets to reduce the number of slots taken.
There are a few reasons this Homer would join plus -more furniture slots and more friend/club slots -if they offered me more furniture slots I would be all over that like Marmite on toast! If I could join 10 clubs instead of 5 -yep that would be a winner… And if they let me add more than 30 ppl on a club- say a server 64 ish I think I would be dancing in the streets… Or 150 friends… Then yeah winner winner chicken dinner they would have my monthly subscription.
But yeah Lockwood -I love you and your giving spirit (the endangered species were a big deal for me) but if you are going to create these enormo spaces please give huge furniture pieces to fill it and some wall dividers -go whole hog and make them with changeable wall papers… Reduce item slots by offering configurations like the other developers are doing and for gosh sakes put the furniture in the gift machine too!
Ok I’ll be honest here, I’m probably the last person to give Lockwood credit (what can I say, I’m stubborn) But I like this place & gosh this is hard to type but, Good job Lockwood.
After seeing the level of customisation that Granzella built into the Paris Penthouse, I doubt that I shall ever buy another space that does not offer comparable features. This space looks nice enough but I will wait to see what else it offers before considering a purchase.
