Granzella’s City Of Flowers Penthouse
by Burbie52, HSM team writer
This week’s update brought us yet another estate from Granzella, who are known for their innovative ideas in personal estates. This one is even more unique and very different than their previous offerings. It is a great new addition to a saturated market and has a great deal to offer the buyer.
The first thing you will notice when you arrive is the long, beautiful wood floor hallway, with several doors branching off from it. The colors in this apartment are very low key, making decorating this space easier than many before it. There are furniture spawning spots in almost every room as well, something I wish all apartment had for easy placements.
The first room on your left is obviously a guest bathroom. It has a built in sink, but the rest is bare; small enough to easily fill. The entire space is filled with little glowing pads that allow you to change settings in each room. These settings are for things like lights, music and wallpaper. Yes, you heard me right: wallpaper – finally! There are two choices of wallpaper in most of the rooms, and when you change each one, it also changes the floor from wood to tile.
The lights have five settings, going from a very nice one that is almost dark to very light, and there are also controls for four different times of day to change the mood from dawn to night. This amount of functionality sets this space apart from many others before it and makes the space worth the price tag. There are controls for carpet and also for drapes. There are several choices for these within the settings, and once you purchase them from the store, they come as two separate items. One becomes a part of the functionality of the space itself, then there are rugs and partitions that can be used anywhere as well.
These items come in three colors currently: black, brown and white; when you use the carpet, it fills the entire floor, and the curtains fill the windows that surround the entire exterior of the space. The curtains can be opened or closed, which drastically changes the way the rooms look. Since there are six slots in the settings for this function, we can assume that there will be more colors coming to chose from. The best thing about this new idea in function is that you are able to use them without taking away from your furniture slots. This very well could be the future of personal spaces.
There is also a toilet you can buy that is automatically added to your bathrooms through the settings menu. It has an active lid that opens as you near it. The carpets also open up some mats that you can use in both of the bathrooms as well in all the colors you choose to buy.
The rest of the space consists of two bedrooms, a spacious living room and kitchen, and one of the nicest bathrooms I have ever seen. The master bath is amazing. It has a large jacuzzi tub with a golden swan faucet and a built in sink, but the nicest thing in it is the shower that actually works! It steams as well as has streaming water. This is a wonderful touch to add realism to the space. They have also added the towel game from Glittering Sands here for you to use as you sit in the jacuzzi with your guests.
The penthouse overlooks the city of Paris, you are tucked away in a nice neighborhood with just a hint of the Eiffel Tower in the distance, there are other landmarks hinted at in the scenery as well. The space has a whopping sixteen picture frame slots, great for those who might decide to turn it into something other than a home. I think it would actually make a wonderful art gallery as well as a house.
Another interesting piece of this innovative space is the sparkling cloud behind one of the bedroom doors. When you approach it, it asks you for a code which, once entered, gives you a chocolate cake. This is a part of a massive mini game that Granzella is doing for Valentines Day which involves this new space, as well as their Beach Hideaway and the public Southern Island beach space.
There are some very cool accompanying furniture pieces you can buy as well, including a wood fronted kitchen that is reasonably priced at only $1.99. I liked these for use in other spaces as well because they have a very rustic look that will fit in less modernistic homes. I also liked the free standing counters and the nice flowered set of pots and pans. These little things are what make a decorated space look lived in, something that I usually strive for in my spaces.
The way they have decided to market this space is very clever. The penthouse itself is only $3.49 to purchase, but if you want all the bells and whistles you are going to have to fork up more money. The carpets cost a dollar per color, as do the curtains. The toilet costs $1.49 and comes in black and grey. They are giving you the decision on how much or how little you want to use to expand your apartments capabilities. I think the space is wonderful all by itself, but the add-ons are very cool and add a lot to the moods you can set there.
Granzella has really outdone themselves in this new personal space, this new idea of selling functionality within a space, instead of just charging up front for functions that not everyone wishes to have is a very smart move on their part. The space is beautifully crafted and I look forward to what they have coming for it in the future.

I love this new space. It brings new excitment and is perfect for us Home decorator freaks. Thank you Granzella!
I completely agree with both of you. This is a really inspiring place for decorating. I think Granzella made a great decision in the pricing. All the customization’s are reasonably priced. I can even understand why no bundles are offered.
Nice article Burbie.
Depending on the room, the carpets unlocked by purchasing $.99 “mats” unlock room-sized rugs, a mat before the entry door, or a bathroom mat with a cutout for a toilet. Used in other spaces, they are good-looking fixed-size rugs. A very reasonable price for some nice items.
clever idea, I would only buy one colour of each add on so it does tend to make my decorating more neutral. disappointed Granzella released a nice corner oven for space then decided to put 45 degree pieces of wall in each corner. meaning it dont fit properly. This type of customisation though is far far better than the blueprint way of doing it.
