My Home Christmas List

by Phoenix, HSM team writer

If anyone had asked me what I would have wanted for Christmas, in Home this second year of being here, my list might have gone something like this.

Dear Santa,

I wanted to get my list of Home Christmas wants out to you this year; there are just a few things I’ve asked for.

1. I would like to be able to swim in Home. Oh, got that already, moving on.

2. I want to fly. Oh, got that already.

3. How about more dance moves? Oh yeah, got that.

4. Well, what about…a palace fit for a Sultana? Oh, never mind, got two of those.

5. Snowball fights? Got that…

6. How about being able to gift to a friend an entire personal space? Oh…got that already. Right then, how about virtual pets? Oh yeah, I forgot…got that.

7. How about building my own personal space? Yep, you’re right, got that.

8. I want to be able to listen to music from the outside world, here in Home; looks like we got that too.

9. To be a part of Xi, the game that started it all. Umm, got that.

10. Watch movies in any of my personal spaces. Got that.

Picture 817Wow; this year, there was very little I had left to ask Santa for here in Home. Home has seen a banner year in innovation and content growth. There are several ways to fly, thanks to Home’s engaging developers following Hellfire’s lead from their Novus Prime estate.  Home has several places to swim, thanks to Granzella, Lockwood and Juggernaut.  You can gift your friends personal spaces thanks to Lockwood. It is now possible  to even gift friends items outside of your personal space’s gifting machine and outside of Lockwood’s gift machine; this is thanks to the various developer currencies that have popped up in Home. Kudos for this idea, guys.

For those of us that have heard stories of the legendary Xi, there is now the opportunity to be a part of Xi, with Xi Continuum. Also from nDreams, Home residents now have the ability to design and create their own house with Blueprint:Home.

Let’s also not forget the wonder of Dragonfly vision in Avalon Keep, from Heavy Water, where you fly over your realm and survey all you own. We  also have other spaces with diurnal controls, with the added touch of  controlling the sound in your space. There are even more free games to play in Home, thanks to Digital Leisure’s Bingo, Lockwood’s Uproar, Home Tycoon, and F.U.B.A.R., just to name a few.Picture 818

To close out the year in new and innovative content, Juggernaut has given its Winter Collection with its small space requirements only 4 spaces needed to place this bundle in your space.  Granzella will be holding the Joyful holiday event in PlayStation Home; all regions will have these events at the Southern Hideaway Beach and Edo village. Granzella will be releasing their Essentials of Sunbathing Fun set as well – this set is capable to be used while swimming at Glittering Sands Beach. This is in all regions.  There will be a new game from them as well to play in Home, not to mention the new temporary decor updates some spaces will receive for the holidays. There’s also the fact that Home will be celebrating Atari’s 40th birthday. All this before the year ends.

So yes, I think my second year in Home has been a banner year thanks to the great developers here in Home. I have nothing to ask Santa for. I just hope the developers can surpass the bar they’ve raised for themselves next year. There’s no turning back now!

Merry Christmas, Home! See ya in 2013!

Indeed, there’s been a good run of innovation this year. I could still ask Santa for an actual Snowman from The Snowman -- that flys lol. Or a stocking-transporter to this year’s Winter space, heh, which I’d like to see in a Victorian setting ( next year maybe?). That’d be nice. I’ve always wanted one of those inflatable human bubbles too, just for a larff. Yeah, I got a whole buncha stuff to want, and that’s stuff NOT related to games! Hmm, best not to get me started there.

Santa doesn’t need my list, it’s just too long when it comes to Home!

A lot of Home dreams came true this year and I am sure there will be many more to come in 2013. I love what the developers have come up with recently, especially that snowball fight, my friends and I have been having a riot with that! Merry Christmas to everyone in HSM and all over the world who are reading this!
