Dispatches From Xi — Burbie, Training Day

by Burbie52, HSM team writer

I am an agent of Axiom — this came as a complete surprise to me. I went to Aurora to do my daily check on the trap, and found a machine near the entrance that distributes Aeropal soda. Hmm, this is new, I thought. So I tried one, and suddenly I was transported to a place I never knew existed in Home, a place I was informed by an agent named Jess was called the Continuum. When I arrived, I was immediately thrown into a chase down the streets of this strange city after someone named EatFlamingDeath. She was a stealthy opponent, and she stayed a bit ahead of me every step of the way. I followed her into a warehouse.

Once I got there, I was informed by Jess that I had to follow Death and see where she was heading to. It seems that no one knew that this Continuum existed below the surface of Home, and Death had been using it to hide her activities. Axiom was trying to figure out how this place worked, and they needed my help to find EatFlamingDeath and stop her nefarious campaign against Axiom and Home itself.

I found myself at a door that was locked, but there was a keypad that had been disabled next to it. I had to find a power source and a cable to fix the keypad. After a brief search, I was able to find them. And then I had to figure out the code to access the exit door.

I noticed the keys on the pad were worn, so I punched the three digits code combinations in until I found the right one. Once outside, I found myself in the heart of the city, surrounded by odd moving figures running to and fro. I reached a place where I could go no further until I decided to join the fight as a true agent of Axiom.

I made the choice to continue this fight and was granted entrance to the rest of the city. They gave me an Aeropal helper, which gives me maps and information. They told me to find my way to Axiom Headquarters, so I did, following the convenient blue navigation arrow. Here, Axiom gave me instructions on how to access the Axopedia, and the supply store where I could choose to purchase things to help me on my quests.

Then I was told to find my way to my apartment. Using the map supplied, I did so and found myself in Vertigo, my own personal space. Here I was shown the video screen and also the Cypher, a sort of computer terminal where I would receive my emails and instructions for the first mission that I was to accomplish.

I have no idea what the future holds, but I will be here trying each day to unfold Continuum and its mysteries.

  1. They fooled you Burbie and others too including me. They’ll fool you again too. The only wait out is to fool them. Yes, it can be done.
