Digital Leisure: Penthouse Furniture Packs

by keara22hi, HSM team writer

The Casino’s contributions to Home’s decorators have been escalating. First came the furniture rewards from various Casino games: the rugs, the tables, the wall decor items.  There was even a heart-shaped bed that a resort in the Poconos could be proud of!

We had already received two apartments for our Casino play. Then, we hit the jackpot — the reward for overall earnings of one million chips was a fantastic VIP Penthouse Suite.  Of course, some of us were daunted by the immensity of that space. How could you fill it with only a hundred furniture slots, especially if you wanted to include some active items?  Visits to each other’s suites became a regular event in our ongoing quest for decorating ideas.

Then on December 12, Digital Leisure raised the bar for other developers in Home by giving us another reward — a complete furniture package for players with 1.5 million chips in total win, designed to be used in the VIP Penthouse Suite.

For those of us who love tropical fish, however, the temptation to go crazy with this concept becomes irresistible.  I’ll be writing more about that in another article; the aquarium needs an entire photo spread dedicated to it. In the next picture, you can see one of the Casino reward rugs, plus the Penthouse coffee table and the side chairs.

The new set of living room furniture includes a rug that exactly echoes the shape of the couches, making furniture placement easy.  In this case, however, I used an award table from another one of the Casino games along with the curved couch and two of the matching loveseats to define the space.

Furnishing the dining room was relatively easy.  A black and white rug I already owned set off the black and white themed furniture perfectly, creating a hip, modern Las Vegas look. Now all I need are guests for a dinner party. And lots of champagne for celebrating, of course. Time to search through Ornaments for the best-looking ice buckets!

Next to the camaraderie of the VIP Room games, the most delightful place to spend time in the sprawling Paradise Springs resort is in front of the marvelous fireplace that warms both of the main rooms in the Penthouse Suite. Take a moment to turn up your TV’s volume, and enjoy the subtle realistic crackling of the flames. I’ve used one of the my Lockwood rugs and another one of the award tables, plus the Digital Leisure side chairs, to create a cozy fireside conversation spot. It’s the very best place around to discuss (and exaggerate) the big Bingo that escaped, with only one spot unfilled.

PlayStation(R)Home Picture 12-12-2012 09-44-16Here’s the bottom line for all you high-rolling decorators: have fun going through your furniture storage, and trying out different combos of items. Remember that one of the hallmarks of Las Vegas culture is the wild and unpredictable. What other city on earth would encourage couples to be married by an Elvis impersonator? What other city includes replicas of the Eiffel Tower, and the Great Pyramid of Egypt, topped with a high-intensity searchlight. It’s true! You can see them both from your Penthouse balcony.

If you don’t already have the Penthouse Suite, don’t give up. Keep on playing, and you’ll have earned it before you know it. And, even if you have already topped all the tiers and won all the overall rewards, keep on piling up those overall earnings. Digital Leisure has a history of adding new tiers, overall rewards, and even whole new games, as we have recently seen with the Bingo Hall. Who knows that kind of goodies they will come up with next? Could the people who dreamed up a wheelchair as a reward item for Bingo and who burned down their low-rent comped hotel rooms be far from going completely over the edge, reward-wise? I am taking bets on that one, and the odds are in my favor.

I have decided to work toward the Penthouse over the coming year, but I will do it at a leisurely pace, I am not in a hurry. I love the space though and when I visit I see all sorts of decorating possibilities. Thanks for showing all of the furniture pieces and I always love the way you decorate Granny.

The Casino came out on the 11th of January and I now have about $6000, so I let’s see… divide $1M by $6000, compensate for that being 11 months, carry the one… consider that it was a leap year… Yes! According to my calculations I’ll have children before I have a million dollars at the casino. Congrats to those who have done it or will!!
