Cutthroats 2.0 Official Trailer!
by NorseGamer, HSM Editor-in-Chief, with information provided by Kevin Pimental, Michael Mumbauer and David Beltran, Sony VASG
So at this point, the details of Cutthroats 2.0 have all been revealed, to healthy and enthusiastic discussion both here and on the Sony forum.
Cutthroats 2.0 is a big deal. It’s the largest multiplayer game in Home, and Sony spent a fortune retooling and reinventing this game based on user feedback. New interface. New weapons. New grind economy. The ability to voice chat! There’s a whole lot going on here.
You could point out that HSM is somewhat biased in favor of this game, since we were invited by Sony VASG to have a small helping hand in its creation, but let’s not forget that we were also very harshly critical of its predecessor. The reason why we’re so pumped up for Cutthroats 2.0 is because it legitimately is an awesome experience.
Up until now, though, you’ve only been able to take our word for it. So let’s up the ante:
Here’s the official trailer.
And here’s the crazy part: there’s way, way more to this game than even what’s in the trailer. Look at the features list we published a few days ago. Little details, like new sound effects and music cues. New explosion effects. There’s so much going on with the new version of Cutthroats that it really does feel like a different game.
When does it go live? I can now finally tell you:
Tomorrow.
That’s right. On September 5th, it’s time to rediscover Cutthroats.
It’s been really hard to contain my excitement about this game, because I’ve had hands-on time with it, and trust me on this: you’re in for a treat. Tomorrow, you get to experience it for yourselves. Bring a headset and an itchy trigger finger, and let’s go battle for Black Powder Cove!
I didn’t expect it so soon.
very cool.
We were actually racing to get the video uploaded to our YouTube account in time to coincide with the official announcement. Pulled it off!
