If You Had A $10 PSN Card

by Kassadee Marie, HSM team writer

Newcomers, are you ready to jump right into the world of Home? Do you love a bargain? Do you have a $10.00 PSN (SEN) card?

The Home store has nine mega bundles for sale at $9.99 each and they are all a great value. Some of these packs would cost twice as much or even more, if the items were purchased separately. These bundles include some of the older estates on Home, but they are each unique and have a lot of personality. There’s something for almost everyone in this assortment, which you can find in the Home Originals furniture store, under value packs. Besides the personal space, most of these bundles offer a large number of furniture and clothing items.

Here’s the catch: Sony does not list the items that are available with each bundle.

Following are some brief descriptions of these estates and their matching furniture and clothing items. You will see that I have drawn some conclusions about the items bundled with these spaces, by giving it some thought and reviewing the furniture and clothing items offered individually and in packs in the store at this time. A review of the pictures of each bundle in the store does indicate that they are offering some, if not all, of the matching furniture items for the spaces that have coordinating furniture.

The Paris Clocktower Apartment is the oldest of these nine estates. If this package, which offers 76 furniture items, includes the Paris modern and classical bundles, then it may be the largest discount on Home. There are 12 furniture and ornament bundles available for this estate and two of them alone are priced at $24.49 for 15 items in the modern style and $22.99 for 10 items in the classical style. This bundle also offers 35 clothing items, and I note that the six Paris clothing bundles in the costume store total the same, counting male and female items, so these may be the very items that are included.

The Luxury Racing Box is a great space for all you racing enthusiasts. This three-level space has seating and a lounge area on the top floor, a small mezzanine and a large garage. The bundle includes 12 furniture and 18 clothing items. This is exactly how many matching furniture items there are in the store for this estate, in two bundles. One bundle has eight furniture items including a couch, coffee table, dining table, chair, wall art, a racing bar, tool chest and trophy case. The other pack has four race cars. These are not models, but full race-sized vehicles that would look great in the garage portion of this space. There are four racing costumes offered in the store, two in red and black for males and two in turquoise for females. Each of the racing driver packs has five pieces and each of the pit crew packs has four pieces, for a total of 18 items.

If you love the idea of living on another planet, then the Planetland package is perfect for you. This small estate has an interesting design on the inside, including two small waterfalls and incredible other-worldly views on three sides, such as a view of the near-by giant man-eating plants. This package has 22 furniture and 16 clothing items. There are two outfits for each gender, one in “combat” style and one in casual clothing. The female items include two unique head/hairstyle items. There are no matching furniture bundles in the store, but you receive some incredible and interesting furniture, such as alien fruit bowls, colorful couches, tables and chairs and a unique shower.

Two of the packages are from estates “located” in Greece. They are small spaces, but very interesting and detailed. The Santorini Greece Yacht has seven furniture and 32 clothing items. The matching yacht furniture in the store has these items, a sofa, chair, two tables, drink chest, beach bag and sun screen, which I believe are the furniture items offered with this bundle. These are stylish items, well suited to a luxury yacht. There is also a sun accessories pack of nine pieces, that are very likely included with the clothing items. I’m assuming there will also be bathing suits and casual wear items for both genders. The Santorini, Greece apartment offers 33 furniture items, which I believe includes some of the most beautiful furniture available in Home and that is perfectly suited to this jewel of a space. The white canopy bed, wrought iron chair and marble-topped table are three exquisite items. All of the furniture items in this bundle would total over $10.00 bought by themselves, even at the currently discounted prices in the store.

If you love the beach, you’ll the Tropical Escape personal estate. This space offers a huge beach and a thatched roof bungalow with a lot of features, including a deck on all four sides. Although this space has two only rooms, they are large enough to easily divide into four areas. The rear of the estate has a natural rock hot tub and the front of the estate is open to the beach and the beautiful ocean view. Included with this bundle are 25 furniture and 12 clothing items. The matching furniture bundles include a six piece living room set, a fun sea-grass furniture pack of eight pieces and an eight item ornament bundle. In addition there are three individual items which are a tropical bar, a hammock, and a really beautiful bed.

There are a few places in the world that still have remnants of ancient civilizations, but not all that many. Egypt is one of these places, of course, and if you dream of having lived there in ancient times, you’ll love the colorful Pharaoh’s Tomb. This bundle has 17 furniture and 35 clothing items. By my count that is the number offered in the two furniture and ornament packs available in the store, which leads me to believe that these are the items offered with this bundle. The statue pack has four items and the decor pack has13. These packs are offered at $2.99 and $9.99 separately, so this would be an incredible savings. The Home Originals costume store has three male costumes and three female costumes that would fit with this theme. They are King Tut, Julius Caesar and Egyptian Gods for the guys and Queen Nefertiti, Cleopatra and Egyptian Gods for the girls. The items in these packs total 17 male items and 17 female items, which is one item short of the given total of clothing items. I’m not sure what the other clothing item would be.

For all of you Anime lovers out there, Sony is offering the Anime Apartment bundle, which includes 30 furniture and 20 clothing items. This multi-level night time space has a really interesting look and a lot of details, such as a space taxi that takes off and lands periodically. In matching furniture there are two picture frames, four chairs, three tables, two cubes, two couches, four lamps and 13 ornaments. All of these anime furnishings added together total 30 items. In the Home Originals costume store there are four male and three female anime outfits, made up of five pieces in each. This is, obviously, more than 20 items of clothing. For the males there are two battle suits, a mech suit and an everyday futuristic outfit and for the females there is one battle suit, an everyday futuristic outfit and a mech suit. Any two of the three or four outfits for both genders would be a great bonus in this package.

The newest of the estates being offered is the Luxury Weekend Lake House, and includes 19 furniture items in the bundle. This large estate has two floors, generous decks and lovely views of the lake, yard, and surrounding woods full of fireflies. If you love a totally modern look and want a space with a built-in kitchen and some built-in furniture, such as table with stools, a couch, and a room divider, then this is the place for you. The furniture items in the pack include sofas, chairs, a coffee table, outdoor and indoor lamps, ornaments and an active item clock.

One of these estates is sure to please almost everyone and they are an outstanding value for anyone who does not own them presently.

By the way, I’ve heard more than one person in Home say that PSN cards are only available in $20.00, $50.00 and $100.00 amounts. I buy the smaller-denomination cards a lot, but the only place I have seen them locally is at Best Buy. They may be available at other stores, though, so be sure to check what’s available around your area.

Home is endlessly entertaining to this California girl. Kassadee has been in Home for about four years, and loves almost everything about it (with a few notable exceptions). She spends way too much money there, and perhaps too much time... Someday she will travel the world and write about the people she meets and the places she sees.

Nice article again Kass. These are invaluable for newcomers to Home who don’t have a lot of cash. And you are right, Best Buy is the only place you can purchase a $10 card, at least it is here in Michigan. Why that is I haven’t a clue.

I think it’s more important to spend the $10 on things you actually want instead of buying those bargain bundles.

$5 for Hollywood Hills and $5 for clothing you want. $5 is enough to dress yourself nice and Hollywood Hills is the best personal space in terms of value. Pool, hottub, two stories, plenty of wall space and EOD for movies and radio. There’s plenty of free furniture rewards for furnishing.

That’s what I would recommend for newcomers.

I always tell people if they don’t like most of the items in a bundle, then it’s really not a bargain for them. Also, the clothing comes in male and female styles and some people may not want to “cross-dress”. However, if someone likes one of these themes, they won’t find a better discount in any of the stores at this time. A lot of people enjoy “cos play” and these bundles set them up with the costumes, estate and furniture items in one package and save them a lot of money at the same time. Heck, it even saves them time because they don’t have to go searching through the stores. I stand by my opinion that these are great value, especially for newcomers.

I didn’t know about the anime bundle! I might just have to pick that up. For a good time though, I would just buy $10 in tokens to the Midway! HOURS of fun to be had there!

Is it just me that knows about the bundles you can get direct from the PSN store itself then!? I’m not having a dig at you here Kass, far from it, these bundle articles are great for new comers. But I’m aware of some serious big value bundles that seem to be only available from outside of Home.

While it’s true that not everything in every bundle will please everyone who buys them, these articles are good for even Home regulars to find out about unnoticed deals -- as just proven by Gid!

The first and second stage Newcomer packs directly from the store I found very useful when I first came to US, 100 (or something) male/female clothing items for $3? Not baaaad, and the next pack up isn’t so bad either, but Sony, what’s with the male/female bundles!? Seriously, I’d imagine MOST people pick a gender and stick with it! Dont they?

I can tell you are not a faithful KassFollower (LOL) or you would have read my two articles about the Sony store bundles. The last I counted there were 48 and I wrote very recently about the newest seven. However, there are some drawbacks to buying from the Sony store, such as the fact you can’t try on the clothes. Still, if you shop carefully, there are great values there. Some of the least expensive clothing bundles are worth it just as what my mom calls “grab bags”.

We have PSN Cards at KMART AND TARGET in my area.
