The Beverly Homebillies

This is just one of those silly, whimsical video projects that I make when I get bored. In short, what would a Home version of the Beverly Hillbillies look like?
This particular machinima also lampoons a couple of aspects about Home estate design that may not seem like big deals, but make a difference. For one thing…where are all the damn bathrooms? Yes, it’s possible to create a bathroom with virtual furniture — a toilet and some room dividers — but honestly, it never seems to look right. Off the top of my head, the only estate which offers a proper bathroom is the free hotel room from Digital Leisure, and half the time that room’s being flooded, ransacked, blown up or god knows what else.
You could easily counter that since our avatars don’t have any bodily functions, there’s no need for a bathroom. Okay, valid point. But also limiting. If avatars have no bodily functions, then why do we have estates with non-functional kitchens and food ornaments that we can’t consume? My point is that while there’s no reason for virtual reality to conform to actual reality, there’s also no reason why it can’t.
Obviously, there are other common trappings missing from personal estates. Closets, for instance. Yes, sure, closets indicate where a bedroom should go, and not every interior designer wants a bedroom in the same spot. Sometimes they want to put something silly there. I get that. But again, it’s these little touches that add to the sense of reality in Home.
Anyway, take a look, have fun, and watch for the horsebomb…

Fun to make as always Granny and it turned out nice too. There are many things missing from Homes designs that is why I am so excited about the Blue Print house as are many others. Now we just need shower stalls and bathroom sinks with working mirrors to put in our virtual bathrooms lol.
