An Overlooked Bargain
by Kassadee Marie, HSM team writer
Bigyama came out with a fabulous furniture bundle a few weeks back, which may have been missed by a lot of Home users busily engaged with all the other things offered with that large weekly update, such as No Man’s Land.
Bigyama are the people who brought us the fresh style of the Forthstar line of clothing, so you might want to take a moment to look these furniture items over in the store on the navigator, under Bigyama’s tab. Their “Ultimate Furniture Bundle” costs only $4.99 and is made up of three pieces in six styles. That’s right – 18 pieces of furniture for just under five dollars. This is a dream come true for a lot of Home decorators out there who are on a budget. If anyone is on a very tight budget they can also buy any collection of three pieces for $1.99 per set. Five of the mini-bundles consist of a couch, table and chair or love seat and one collection has an ottoman instead of a couch. Each item is sold individually for $.99 apiece. These bundles can help set the tone in almost any Home personal estate, but these collections seem to be a very good fit for some specific spaces.
The Captain’s Collection is advertised as a setting to “discuss tactics and reminisce over past victories”. This dark blue, gold-trimmed set of couch, chair and small table has a definite nautical look to it. If you own the Pirate Galleon, you already have the perfect estate for these items. At the bow of the ship there are two spaces which would make great sitting rooms using this collection. Or perhaps, you’d like to make use of the small middle deck deck as your lounge with these three pieces. The captain’s chair would look great positioned behind the ship’s wheel, waiting for you to take the helm. This collection would also work well in the Neptune Suite in several of the first floor locations.
The second set is called the Zen Collection and is advertised as a setting of “stark beauty”. This simple wood trimmed tan-colored set of an armless couch and love seat with a dark wood coffee table would look good in almost any personal estate on Home. If you own the Lakeside Log Cabin and love the rustic beauty there, you’ll find this three piece collection is a great match for the deck. I recommend that you invite a good friend over to relax and enjoy some quiet conversation while viewing the sunset over the lake together very soon. If you own the Waterfall Terrace, this set will add to the beauty of the outdoor, upper-story lounge area.
The Snug Collection, is the third set and made up of an orange couch, dark green chair and large coffee table, and almost should be known as the “Friends” collection. All of you TV fans can have your own “Central Perk” coffee shop, if you desire. I suggest that you use this set to decorate the first floor of the City Penthouse. The area closest to the stairs could be set up as the coffee-making area and counter. The area just before the large patio can be set up with this furniture collection to duplicate the lounge area, where you can sit back with some friends and share some virtual coffee and real laughs. It would be fun if you and five friends dressed up and re-styled your avi’s as each of the characters on that ten-year long hit television show.
The fourth set is the Oslo Collection, presented as “modern and sleek” and consisting of a square-styled couch and chair in khaki with burnt orange pillows and rectangular coffee table. The trim on the couch, chair and table and is made from very dark wood. This set seems to belong in the Luxury Weekend Lake House on the second floor, where it will compliment the curved orange couch already in place there and will suit the style of this personal estate. This is another one of Home’s estates with a wonderful view from a room where you’ll want to relax and enjoy your quiet moments away from the public spaces and their noisy crowds.
The Regency Collection is the fifth set and offers “style, sophistication and elegance”. This is the smallest of the sets, with only a high-backed chair in tan, brown and black stripes, a matching ottoman and a large glass-topped table. The Regency period is used to describe the transition between Georgian and Victorian eras in England, but you still might want to show off these items at the Paris Clocktower Apartment, where they suit the ornate style. Also, if you have it already, these items would also look very good at the Gothic Manor.
The sixth and last set in this ultimate collection is the Jefferson Collection. This set has a couch and chair in narrow stripes of black, gray and off-white and a round coffee table made with rich, dark wood. This set reminds me of a study or library in a stately home and would be perfectly suitable in the Assassin’s Creed Apartment in the room with the huge fireplace in the upper story. All you would need to add would be a desk and/or bookshelves, and a rug and two frames with pictures.
The preceding were some of my ideas on where to use these sets offered by Bigyama and I’m sure you’ll have ideas of your own. When Blueprint: Home is finally here, I believe that having this furniture package will encompass many of the possible styles for this new concept in Home design. I recommend that all you Home decorators purchase this bundle now to be ready to inexpensively and stylishly furnish your own creations there.
Nice article! I had completely missed that. Now I need to go back and take a look. I can see a lot of pieces I can use.
Nice read Kass. I love the look of some of these pieces and I agree that with Blueprint coming today there will be a lot of need for new stuff to decorate it. I am also hoping for more bathroom stuff to show up like modular shower stalls and shower/tub combos and of course and vanity with a mirror or counters with mirrors and sinks. I like the look of many of these pieces and may buy a few to compliment my collection.
Oh man I cant say how disappointed I was to hear that Big Yama was taking a hiatus from the market. The packaging- the idea of it was very good.
