Phoenix Through the Home Portal, Part 3
by Phoenix, HSM team writer
(This is the third in the series of Phoenix’s adventures.)
Phoenix had hoped that after leaving the Land of Dreams, she would be transported home. She was beginning to miss her home and her parents.
The Land of Dreams had been a very active land. The whole thing had been set up around a game. The world itself was a game. Well, if you could call it that. The World had been invaded, and now its people had to collect orbs to use in the fight for its very survival. This necessity had been disguised as a game. Phoenix surmised this had been done to keep the people’s minds off the real dangers. All the people there were more than willing to play a game all day. They never even talked about the truth behind this Orb Runner game. They simply ran around collecting orbs and being rewarded for their collections.
Land of Dreams, indeed. She supposed wanting to play all day was someone’s dream, but here in this world she could see why they thought it the land of dreams. How odd to play and keep a happy face, when an invading enemy was at your door. Phoenix wondered if this was really the best way to deal with the truth. To pretend it wasn’t.
No matter — she had done her part by playing the game. She had collected orbs and helped the people of the Land of Dreams with their defense. Now all she wanted was to go home. She was tired and hungry. Those mushrooms had been so inviting, and seeing others there eat them told her it was okay. She hadn’t expected them to be the catalyst for her next transportation. Yet here she was, and it wasn’t home….
Would she ever get home? Summer at the beach was now looking very enjoyable to her. This place was bright and vibrant, full of pixels and animated gizmos. There were large displays and loud music all about her. It was like an amusement park. It all seemed to be honoring a large brown cloth figure. Who was he, and why was he so important? Having found herself in this strange bright world, she decided there was nothing else to do but explore. So off she went, in search of answers to her questions.
I live the way you are using Home spaces to tell this story. Nicely done!
Thank You Burbie.
