Go Bad on A Budget

Admit it: there are times in your life when you’ve had enough and just don’t want to be good any more. You’ve wanted to hop into a car in Grand Theft Auto and just run over miscellaneous objects like those pedestrians. You’ve probably felt the need to control the world from time to time because, after all, who could do it better?

For a little taste of just plain destruction or world domination on Home, I suggest you purchase the Villain’s Lair personal estate. This estate is a good-sized underground lair that seems to be located on an island with an active volcano. There is a huge vaulted door guarded by a statue of the Egyptian god Set, rock walls that glow red in places from flares of lava, narrow walkways over deep chasms, and three under-water glass viewing walls. I adore the shark seen there from two of them; I named mine Sasha, after my cousin. This space also comes with a control center for ruling the world (in your imagination), rewards for the owner, and a trophy room. In addition, there are two fairly simple and really fun games called Villager Griefer and World Domination. These two games definitely make the $5.99 cost a bargain. Who wouldn’t want to terrorize and destroy a village repeatedly with natural and unnatural disasters or dominate the entire world one square at a time – virtually, of course.

The Lost Dam Hideout is another space that you might consider running the world from. Although there are no games included, this small and dark estate is atmospheric and sells for only $4.99 at present. It has two levels of fascinating details, like several rough rock walls and one solid glass wall inside and a view from the top of the crumbling dam outside. There are lights embedded in the walls, a very special pool and places for two picture frames or wall hangings. One interesting detail is the spiral trap door your guests walk on over the piranha pool. But, there is just one more thing I would like to have there. You can call me crazy – and some do – but I would love to be able to open that trap door under guests to drop them into the piranha pool and watch them swim for their virtual lives. Wouldn’t that be some interesting animation? Come on, it’s just for (evil) fun! Muwhaha!

Any voguish bad guy or girl needs a well-styled lair, preferably fitted out with black furniture. If you’re lucky, you have the furniture items from E3 2010. If not, Mass Media offers a bundle, called the Tuxedo Collection, that is black and red (another great villain color). For $1.49 you receive three pieces – a couch, love seat and chair.

LOOT also has several inexpensive pieces you could purchase. These are the black shelves, in two styles; one is a free standing style and the other is a wall hanging style. They are called the Black Modern shelves and Black Modern Wall shelves and these items are $.39 and $.49, respectively. The skulls won from the Cutthroats game would look great there. Or if you’re into a gorier look, how about the zombie head won at Central Plaza Dead Island? Some of the more evil looking Edo dolls or the Red Pyramid statue from the Konami penthouse would look great there, too. And don’t forget the golden rewards from the Uncharted TGI that are fit for any aspiring tyrant. Before shopping, always look through your reward items for inspiration.

We all know the best of the worst villains have minions and cats. Although there are several mini-human figures available at this time, they really haven’t made a suitable minion yet. However, the Sidekicks store offers several cat companions, such as the Black Cat from the Originals store or Chairman Meow or Toby the Tabby from Loot. Lockwood also offers six kittens in both genders. Four of them are tabbies and two are seal point Siamese. All these cat companions are $1.99, except the tabbies, which are $1.49 and that makes them the best deal. You might want to have a tornado follow you around and remind you of all the fun you had playing Village Griefer. The Originals store offers one, but it’s for $2.49, so you might want to wait and see if it goes on sale. You never know!

What kind of music does an evil overlord or lady play? Any kind he or she wants to! However, the Music store does offer The Phantom 5000 Beat Machine for $1.99 that plays 20 beats, and you may find it suitable for your villainous musical needs.

Check out the Costumes Originals store for a great villain costume called Red Raven or villain-ess costume called Wild Scarlet, for $1.49 each. If you like to convey your villainous self-expression, there is a lot of black leather to be found in the stores, as we all know. Or make up your own villain with inexpensive or free items. If you were at E3 2010, the reward suit and sunglasses you received there are nearly perfect as they are. Or consider items like Sodium’s 111,111,111 stomps scorpion top, with black pants and the hood from the Miz fortune game. Or some items from E3 2011, like the Resistance 3 top and the Twisted Metal “Sweet Tooth” head with black pants and boots. By the way, is is just me, or does that reward item, the Echochrome suit, look a bit like the Austin Powers’ villain, Dr. Evil? Especially if you add a smooth bald head?

So, go ahead express yourself and let your sinister side out once in awhile, in a safe and healthy manner on Home. We all like to go a little monstrous once in awhile. Just don’t hurt others while having your fun. And confess it: you’ve shot a friend or two while playing Red Dead Redemption because, well, who could resist?

Home is endlessly entertaining to this California girl. Kassadee has been in Home for about four years, and loves almost everything about it (with a few notable exceptions). She spends way too much money there, and perhaps too much time... Someday she will travel the world and write about the people she meets and the places she sees.

Within each of us, there dwells a mighty and raging fury. Don’t Make Me Angry.. You Wouldn’t Like Me When I’m Angry.. I like being the good guy but I have put on an evil outfit in home a lot. It’s fun to hang out in the lair and plan world domination from time to time.

It’s a great time to be in home and have options to be good or evil or just casual. I will not remind you first years vets of how limited home was at the start when it came to outfits.

This article makes me want to create video now.. ty kass.

I am not one to get into this space or the “dark” side of things, but role playing is big in Home and we all do it on some level. Good write up of an older space, one that is probably collecting a lot of dust in the store.
