Cubehouse 360 at E3!

by NorseGamer, HSM Editor-in-Chief

No, we’re not riffing on some other console. We’re talking about Cubehouse’s unique E3 video!

Here’s what makes it unique: while most of the footage we used was shot with a conventional Sony handycam, Cubes also had this really snazzy camera that could shoot in a full circle — which, when you’re engulfed in the insanity of E3, is actually a pretty cool way to capture it.

Some rules to the E3 experience:

  • People. Everywhere.
  • OMG video screens!
  • Sleep? You kidder, you.
  • Wear comfortable shoes.
  • “We’re not worthy! We’re not worthy!”

And that 360-degree camera actually does a really good job of capturing that sense.

This video really does a great job of capturing the sense of being on the show floor; it’s also, for the machinimists in the crowd, a wonderful study in how two people can take the same footage and edit together two completely different stories out of it, based on what they choose to use. If you want to get one more look at E3 before it rides off into the sunset and we look to the future, you really ought to check this out. Cubes did a great job with it!
