LOOT Assures You That There Is Nothing To See Here
by Jersquall, HSM Podcast Editor
It’s frankly very important to have major, well-known entertainment properties in PlayStation Home. When a gamer enters Home and sees something like Men In Black plastered all over the place — a virtual reality setting which can be fully explored and interacted with — it creates a public perception that Home is an integral part of the overall Sony Entertainment Network.
In short: every time you see a major real-world brand of some sort in Home — Billabong, Diesel, Men In Black, Ghostbusters, Red Bull, UFC, etc. — you realize that someone thought Home was sufficiently worth the financial investment to dump that much money and time into creating such things. This sort of marketing perception is extremely valuable.
The world of Men In Black does seem particularly well-suited to Home, doesn’t it? Talking aliens doesn’t seem at all unusual when you can walk into the Hub and go dancing with ninjas, hamsters, hipsters, mobsters, UFOs and Jesus. Let’s face it: who doesn’t want to run around as an agent with a noisy cricket, a talking dog and a flashy thing?
It is wholly appropriate, too, that LOOT is the development house which brings this to us. LOOT, located at Sony Pictures Studios, is synonymous with bringing high-quality real-world entertainment to Home. The Entertainment On Demand (EOD) service is arguably the single most valuable commodity introduced into PlayStation Home — a case which will only grow stronger once it goes portable later this year. LOOT is synonymous with creating digital entertainment and supplying it at the same time — quite a nifty trick to pull off.
Further, I’m willing to believe they have some MIBs on their payroll. Last year, the Norseling wrote more than four-thousand words about his visit to LOOT (where he got to check out some top-secret goodies), and the only bit of hard information anyone got out of that article was that Sara, LOOT’s production coordinator, wears cute shoes.
I think they used the flashy thing on him. “What you saw in our office was actually a bunch of Tom & Jerry reruns. You’re actually in town to pick up some Round Table pizza. Oh, and try a different hairstyle, because — damn.”
So now that Men In Black is upon us, I figured it’s time to take a look inside what it means to be an intergalactic super-agent defender of the universe. Enjoy!
Funny, and really well done Jers! We should get all the worms together and come up with a party one night! Any ideas?

Nice job Jersquall! I love how the new content in Home inspires people to do neat things like write and create videos. Men In Black 3 looks to be a fun movie and it is good to see the brand names in Home like you said. Hope we see more as time goes on.
